Yes you can choose whichever new phone you want. You receive a box and send the old phone back after you receive the new one. Pretty simple!

But you don't get any residual value from the old device, correct?

I’m waiting for the 12 pro max series I checked my upgrade eligibility status on the Apple store app it to me to a page says getting ready since I didn’t choose anything it didn’t upgrade me right ?

when in November would it be that process I called Apple they don’t know

I don’t see where this is available. Inspected the 12 pro max and chose payments and no pre approval options.

Not worth it with an extra 2 months wait the phone would be payed off for
Only £400 or so better to sell it and start again

Isn't using the Apple Card really the same thing as going through the upgrade program? It's a monthly payment with no interest that would pay off the phone after 2 years.
Yes but the upgrade program allows you to get the 13 after 12 months of payments not all 24.

Does upgrading your phone do another credit pull? I’ve had the iPhone upgrade program for 2 years and never missed a payment. Do they pull or just view your history and approve?

I think they do every few years. I just got one after not having one the last couple of years.

(So how) does this work outside the USA?

Apple Store app UK shows something about making “a reservation online to upgrade at the Apple Store” – which I have a feeling means retail store rather than online… : /
Gutted this isn't available in the UK. Might not be able to sign up for the upgrade programme due to city lockdowns and not being able to visit a store in person :(
It is live in the UK now, check the Apple store app

Yea except once you pay off the Card, you would have available credit again.

Yea I did same. Looks like pre approval isn’t for the pro max. I picked options but only got a remind me button at the end.

Can anyone confirm?

So, I currently have an iphone 6+, and plan on buying an iphone 12 Pro. I have been with Verizon for 19 years. I've always paid cash for my phones....but I'm thinking that now since I have my business pay my Verizon bill and phone, this monthly thing might be a better option...? As you see, I typically keep my phones a long time. The only reason I'm upgrading now is that my new iwatch6 will not work on my current phone. So, at around $50/month I'm paying $600 a year and I'm getting a new phone every year, or two years? And you get applecare + with it. As a business expense, this might be a good option to consider. What do you all think? Thank you in advance for your help.

It doesn't give me the option for the upgrade program, only Apple Card or iPhone monthly payments...not sure why.

same here. You have to proceed without a trade in and you have the ability to choose upgrade program. I didn’t proceed since I am getting a max but I assume once you proceed further you can add your trade in etc.

Can I purchase an unlocked iPhone thru this, or do I have to select a carrier? I’m currently with Spectrum mobile.
Doesn’t look like it. But, I wonder if the phone comes locked. If not, I could just switch out sims.
Found the answer: your locked in to the carrier for one year, instead of the traditional two years.

I don't believe you can trade in your phone after the 1 year mark and upgrade to the new phone with Apple Card though. Thats the primary benefit of the iPhone Upgrade Program. At the one year mark, once you trade in your old phone, your old loan gets wiped away and you get to start with a new loan with a new payment.

Yeah, same here with the Max. I just wanted to check and see if it worked...thanks!

This isn't working for me tonight. I have T Mobile as my carrier. I get to the point in the upgrade process where I have to enter my SS# and Citizen One says they can't find my associated loan. Please enter my SS# again. So I do that, still not able to proceed same error message. I talked with Apple, they said call Citizen One. I called Citizen One, and they connected me with Apple. I hung up. Would like to have the pre-approval done so I can order the 12 Pro on Friday. Anyone else having this issue? I am in the US.
