I don’t see an option to pre-approve for the upgrade program only the normal payments. Am I missing something?
And no AppleCare + thrown in.
Exactly the same issue, the error message is to contact T-Mo. Which I did. They claimed everything is correct. Sent me to Apple, the said it is a T-Mo issue. Happened yesterday. I tried again today, same issue. This isn't working for me tonight. I have T Mobile as my carrier. I get to the point in the upgrade process where I have to enter my SS# and Citizen One says they can't find my associated loan. Please enter my SS# again. So I do that, still not able to proceed same error message. I talked with Apple, they said call Citizen One. I called Citizen One, and they connected me with Apple. I hung up. Would like to have the pre-approval done so I can order the 12 Pro on Friday. Anyone else having this issue? I am in the US.
They did the same thing last year. It doesn’t guarantee anything. I didn’t get the phone I chose during preapproval and I was on right when it went live.I'm locked and loaded for pre-order this Friday. Great and seamless process by Apple.
Locked vs not locked. If you go through Apple the phones are unlocked. The line of credit have not shown up on my credit report other than the inquiry. I like to be able to use my phone with local carriers when I travel internationally. Why anyone would open a new line of credit for an iPhone still baffles me, especially when you can order from the carrier with the exact same upgrade program and it just falls under your monthly bill through the carrier.
And if you do a trade-in after the phone is paid off, you can start a new upgrade program plan for significantly cheaper per month.
And no AppleCare + thrown in.
You can still sell it privately on the upgrade program and just close out. Start new one.No cos the whole idea of the upgrade plan is to save money yearly, it’s better to sell it privately now
I here you on this one, I went with prepaid with ATT with my phone, I had xfinity mobile before, and when I go to upgrade it tells me that I can not do it, due to my plan with ATT is a prepaid, not a normal contracts or no contracted one, at this point i am done with the upgrade program only able to use the big 4/ 3 now, just to charge you a device fee.I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but even though I'm in the iPhone Upgrade Program, they won't let me upgrade because I changed carriers from AT&T to Mint Mobile. There are no options without an active account with one of the big four carriers (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile). Ironically, Mint works off the same network as Verizon and T-Mobile. Not sure how I'm going to resolve this, but I'm none too pleased...
Yeah fair enough. Well.. this is all irrelevant outside of the U.S. anyway as nobody else has Apple Card.Apple Care+ can be added to the Apple Card monthly installment option and it will be exactly the same price per month as it is under the IUP. IUP just requires that AppleCare+ is purchased so it automatically adds it in.
At this point the only benefits of doing the IUP over Apple Card installments is that it’s a separate Loan so it doesn’t go against your available Apple Card balance and that you can upgrade after 6 months and 12 Payments have been made by turning in your phone to clear out the balance owed.
if you don’t care about carrying the entire balance of the iPhone on your Apple Card and want to have the device for 2 years (or deal with the selling of it mid cycle yourself) then there is really no point in doing the IUP.
So I get that you can upgrade each year, which is cool and all, but do you just turn in your old device and start making payments for the new one? Can you go to any iPhone you want? So... like if I buy a mini from Apple and miss the screen size I can replace it with Pro next year?
Just got to wait for the one for the Pro Max now.
This feature makes preordering stupid simple and I love it. I just set an alarm for 4:50am wake up and then at 5:00 I click one or so buttons and I’m done and back to bed (ok more like posting on here) by 5:01
