Why do people always say this? Lol.

You really think that the general public knows the timeline for this product? As soon as they see it in stores they’ll buy.

The only thing Apple really botched was HomePod. They were late AND expensive.

Well it’s on the box of the airpods 2 so if you buy them at the store you may read about it while checking out the AirPods

Is it illegal to announce a product you have no intention of selling in order to increase stock value? Is it illegal to encourage people to buy an existing product with claims that a revolutionary new product will be supported by it? Maybe those things are legal. It feels wrong, but what do I know.

Also, are class action lawsuits wrong or something? Companies should be held accountable for their behavior. Are pro-corporatocracy or something?

I think you should go out immediately and hire a lawyer. You have a great case, spare no expense. You incredible insight will bring apple down. Do it! Keep us posted.

The likelihood is low that the biggest company in the world with the best engineers announced a product without first determining such a product was possible and having already created a design. Airpower is even mentioned for recent new products. There's no mention of a substitution product. Given that apple could have announced a temporary suspension or strung it out for another year, the timing is also suspicious. Wouldn't be surprised if this is about not being able to avoid Qualcomm patents.

While I don’t necessarily disagree with you and it’s likely true, none of the news sites mentions they received anything from Apple directly. They may be copying a fake news as far as I am concerned. None of them specifically mention having received word from Apple directly but all go on about quoting Apple. Surely this should pop up on Apples news site too then?

Did you actually read any of the articles? They all reference an emailed statement from Apple.

“After much effort, we’ve concluded AirPower will not achieve our high standards and we have canceled the project,” Dan Riccio, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware, said in a statement provided to Bloomberg Friday.

No company in the world posts product cancellation news on their own website.

BIGGEST FLOP EVER.

They still mention it on the new AirPods boxes but that's because they were manufactured back in 2018 and withheld so they could drain the stock of original AirPods.

All this is shameful, unprofessional and disrespectful towards their customers. So much for the customer being at the center of everything Apple does (as Tim Crook says).

If I had a company I would fire the responsible for this which ultimately is TIM CROOK!

I can see a lot of second gen AirPods being returned because of this. I shall just buy a second wireless charger to charge my AirPods. This should be a lesson to Apple not to announce publicly products especially at their own keynotes until they are confident that they can get them to market. They were too premature with announcing AirPower.

Nobody other than someone trying to make a dumb point is going to return AirPods because of that. There are still plenty of ways to charge AirPods, including multiple third-party options that can charge more than one device at a time.
