Apple’s only fault on this was ever announcing the product. It shows how difficult engineering it was (combined with maybe too lofty expectations) if Apple couldn’t do it.
As for those saying Apple is failing, this is far from them being on a downward spiral. This is them cutting their losses and not releasing a bad product.
Agree. They really shouldn’t pre-announced anything really until it’s ready for sale. The Mac Pro was the last time. Announced June 2013. On sale in December 2013. Shipped Jan 2014. Never updated.
But Apple will always get more scrutiny than other companies. And more nutters on forums calling the downfall because of a cancelled product. If only I had a dollar for every cancelled google, Microsoft or Samsung product...
