No you didn’t

So those that bought the 2nd gen Airpods...
Yes, of course. Here's a ****** one: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Charger-JE-Charging-QI-Enabl/dp/B078MKF7Y8
There are lots more, higher quality ones, too.
But I'd personally like having a double one for my AirPods and watch, then a few single ones around the place for phone.
Not truethere was no rumor of it going into production.

Where’s my 45 cent check?
just look for "Qi" as the charging standard and it will work with any other device that support that standard. Are you sure those those kinds of wireless chargers will charge with Apple Watch and Airpods too? It only lists phones on the item description page, and I've been burned before.
Want to bet on that for say a bag of potato chips? Seriously, I can't believe how many people don't yet get the fact Apple as a hardware company no longer exists. They are nearly 100% focused on on "services" as we saw just this week. That is the present and future for Apple with Tim Cook and they are certainly going to lose their customers all over again. Only this time there will be no Steve Jobs to beg to rescue them from the gutter. Now, obviously I'm not saying a company with Apple's assets are going anywhere like when they were almost broke back then, the same situation will arise in 10 years with no one that good to step in.
Now, it would be my guess we may never see a brand new iMac or maybe even the highly rumored Mac Pro. They no longer care when it comes to stuff like this. It's now about their services and getting software/streaming/cloud focused only to bring in the cash. In fact, if it keeps going like it has, it wouldn't shock me to see the Mac OS become open to the PC so you no longer have to make hackentosh computer. You would simply choose what service/software you want Windows or Mac OS and just put what hardware you want in it. That would give them yet another revenue stream for services/content. All the Mac store stuff and OS running any PC hardware you want.
Cool story bro.. now put your watch on that same mat.... then switch their locations on the mat... How's that working for you?
it's not a trivial task... glad they bailed before they failed... who knows what they come out with later

The iPhone 8, X, Xs all support Qi. I do not know about watch/airpods, but believe those are Qi as well
As far as we know.. the upcoming Mac Pro still isn’t ready..And now we see why Apple does NOT normally announce projects before they're ready.
Amazon stick doesn't have any like the ATV app that's been out for years.Bwahahahahaha! No AirPower guys, but I guess it’s okay for Apple to gaslight their consumer base with dumb million dollar initiatives like AppleTV+ after Amazon’s FIRE STICK has already been doing what their promising for a couple of years already.
Although the Wall Street Journal did not say that production started, they did say that Apple had approved production:
https://www.macrumors.com/2019/03/20/wsj-says-airpower-production-approved/
There were several people/new sources that were wrong regarding AirPower status.
It's not just their ability to charge Qi devices, I was looking for a single charging pad that would charge iPhone, Airpods, and Apple Watch all at the same time.
To my knowledge, there is no other product on the market that will do all three together.
No I didn't what?
It was wrong of them to do that The decision to cancel AirPower would have happened a while back and not announced until signed off by senior management. They should have announced the cancellation of AirPower first and then released AirPods 2 and the wireless caseRelease AirPods first and promote wireless charging....Sales start picking up......ok now let’s announce that we’re cancelling AirPower. Apple is failing.
What's your point? So from your statement you're implying Apple engineers didn't understand electric and magnetic field theory. Tim Cook thought he could break the laws of physics? Seems like Apple needs some new engineers. There are the laws of physics that cannot be broken.
No matter how hard you try the concept of placing a device anywhere on the pad and have it optimally charge just doesn't work. if you understand electric and magnetic field theory, you know that.
