Yes, of course. Here's a ****** one: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Charger-JE-Charging-QI-Enabl/dp/B078MKF7Y8

There are lots more, higher quality ones, too.

But I'd personally like having a double one for my AirPods and watch, then a few single ones around the place for phone.

Are you sure those those kinds of wireless chargers will charge with Apple Watch and Airpods too, all at the same time? It only lists phones on the item description page, and I've been burned before.

People only cared about this product in the first place because it was late. No one would’ve cared if it was released in a normal time frame.

What if this is the biggest April Fools lie of all time and they will release it next monday? Dreaming out loud?

just look for "Qi" as the charging standard and it will work with any other device that support that standard.

The iPhone 8, X, Xs all support Qi. I do not know about watch/airpods, but believe those are Qi as well

Want to bet on that for say a bag of potato chips? Seriously, I can't believe how many people don't yet get the fact Apple as a hardware company no longer exists. They are nearly 100% focused on on "services" as we saw just this week. That is the present and future for Apple with Tim Cook and they are certainly going to lose their customers all over again. Only this time there will be no Steve Jobs to beg to rescue them from the gutter. Now, obviously I'm not saying a company with Apple's assets are going anywhere like when they were almost broke back then, the same situation will arise in 10 years with no one that good to step in.

Now, it would be my guess we may never see a brand new iMac or maybe even the highly rumored Mac Pro. They no longer care when it comes to stuff like this. It's now about their services and getting software/streaming/cloud focused only to bring in the cash. In fact, if it keeps going like it has, it wouldn't shock me to see the Mac OS become open to the PC so you no longer have to make hackentosh computer. You would simply choose what service/software you want Windows or Mac OS and just put what hardware you want in it. That would give them yet another revenue stream for services/content. All the Mac store stuff and OS running any PC hardware you want.

Good point. I'm wondering, though, why don't they openly and explicitly declare that, say, Mac Pro isn't a core product anymore? What would they have to lose? An already stagnant user base?

Does Apple want to go the service way? Fine. Just say it. In the last keynote Cook showed a slide with three business areas: hardware, software and services. Surely they started to focus more prominently on services. I really hope they won't ditch completely the other two areas.

Speaking of the Mac Pro, I still think that they will eventually introduce something. Maybe the promised modularity will disappoint some users, anyway we'll get something.

AirPower is probably tricky from an engineering point of view. Yes, it seems a "simple" charging mat. It's a little bit different than the combos already available on the market which have a specific area/base for Apple Watch and separate area for other devices. Maybe Apple struggled to find a viable way to "detect" different devices on the mat and provide them a proper charging accordingly. My speculation, of course, nothing else.

Who knows, maybe one day they will figure out how to have a reliable multidevice wireless charger.

Another think that I don't get it is why are they announcing lately things way before the actual release. Apple TV+ will be available in fall (end of October?). Why did they announce it half year before? Hype, worried to lose potential subscribers? Don't know. Sometimes I feel they are acting like a crowdsourcing project a la Kickstarter or Indiegogo.

Cool story bro.. now put your watch on that same mat.... then switch their locations on the mat... How's that working for you?

it's not a trivial task... glad they bailed before they failed... who knows what they come out with later

Apple should NEVER announce a product they cant deliver on. And then wait over a year to cancel it.

My opinion stands.

Don’t really care about this news. Was never going to pay what Apple probably would have charged for this. I have 3 Anker wireless chargers dotted around the house and they do the job just fine.

It's not just their ability to charge Qi devices, I was looking for a single charging pad that would charge iPhone, Airpods, and Apple Watch all at the same time.

To my knowledge, there is no other product on the market that will do all three together.

Bwahahahahaha! No AirPower guys, but I guess it’s okay for Apple to gaslight their consumer base with dumb million dollar initiatives like AppleTV+ after Amazon’s FIRE STICK has already been doing what their promising for a couple of years already. I bought my Phone/ Watch/ AirPods with the hopes of airpower being a reality ... LET THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS BEGIN !!!! Tim Cook is a FAILURE !!!

What was going through their heads to not instead just release a normal wireless charger when the first iPhone with it was released. Or even now why don’t they finally bring out just a normal one

Amazon stick doesn't have any like the ATV app that's been out for years.

there are, but not on a single coil. that was supposed to be Apple's "thing" and why it looks like it fell apart.

any device you find now will just essentially be 3 coils on a single "box". there were a couple linked earlier in the last couple pages. I cannot speak to their quality

Release AirPods first and promote wireless charging....Sales start picking up......ok now let’s announce that we’re cancelling AirPower. Apple is failing.
It was wrong of them to do that The decision to cancel AirPower would have happened a while back and not announced until signed off by senior management. They should have announced the cancellation of AirPower first and then released AirPods 2 and the wireless case

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I am sort of glad this turned out this way. According to Gruber, the AirPower case wasn’t initially NOT Qi. I imagine they must have been scheduled to be released when AirPower was last year, and they had to change it when they realized it wasn’t going to work. I’m glad my airpods work with any Qi charger, and hopefully the watch goes the same way. The more open standards the better. I’m dreaming of an (unlikely) world where everything is Qi/USB C.

There are the laws of physics that cannot be broken.
No matter how hard you try the concept of placing a device anywhere on the pad and have it optimally charge just doesn't work. if you understand electric and magnetic field theory, you know that.
What's your point? So from your statement you're implying Apple engineers didn't understand electric and magnetic field theory. Tim Cook thought he could break the laws of physics? Seems like Apple needs some new engineers.
