Apple's silence is what is causing so much press about this.
Nah, I think it's more the general sense of entitlement that Apple fanatics inflict on everyone else.
Apple's silence is what is causing so much press about this.
So return it, buy another phone, wait 2 weeks and Apple could fix it, sell the other phone and buy another iPhone 4. Are you being serious?
Nah, I think it's more the general sense of entitlement that Apple fanatics inflict on everyone else.
No, they aren't being serious. It's ludicrous to think that someone that is not on Apple's payroll could even be against people denouncing this issue and offering apology after apology for Apple.
None of the Apple apologist in this thread are serious. Or else you have to wonder for their sanity, defending a corporate entity tooth and nail without any benefit to themselves.
Everyone who paid 600$ for a handset phone is entitled to a handset phone that works for 600$ worth. That includes being able to hold it in their hands to place and receive calls. There is no inflated sense of entitlement in that.
Right now, I think most purchasers would settle for a "Our bad, we'll investigate and see what we find".
Then return it if not completely satisfied. Surely!!!!!!!
Buy a motorola, nokia, blackberry.....anything!!!!!
Or insist that they give you what you paid for? Surely!!!!!!!
Not a fanboy and still keeping my new iPhone. The reception death grip doesn't affect me. I don't doubt for a second that people have issues, but since I don't I must be a fanboy??
I don't understand what all the fuss is? If you don't think you got what you paid for then return it.
You pays your money you makes your choices.![]()
These would be purchasers that weren't hugged enough by their mommies.
If any customers need reassurances that a major electronics corporation with a reputation built on usability is looking to cure an embarrassing problem in a major product launch - I am surprised they can get to sleep at night for fear the sun won't be back in the morning.
They're working on a software fix. If you don't believe the software fix will work, return the damn phone and wait until either the software fix is proven to work, or they embarrassingly implement a recall and replace the phone with hardware that works. Then you can pick up the iPhone 4.1, with no uncomfortable twisted panties.
This is an Apple made PR mess.

And yet the iPhone 4 is the most successful iPhone launch ever. Gosh, I wish my PR messes were that successful.
Because I'm hoping that if enough people like me keep pushing Apple then something will be done, otherwise there would be no point. I don't think anyone is saying that there won't ever be a fix, we just don't expect (from what Apple has said) the upcoming fix to solve the issue, just try and mask it or make it look less significant.
Should we not have the right to see if Apple fixes the issue before deciding if we want to return it?
Again, Apple statements so far : "Don't hold it like that", "Get a bumper", "Return it for a refund". And you wonder why people question Apple's good faith in all of this ?
This is an Apple made PR mess.
Errr.... he was shorting the wifi antenna to the 3G antenna...
For those who don't understand what a short is... go lick your fingers and shove them into an outlet.![]()
"Don't hold it like that",
Good workaround until a fix is finished
"Get a bumper",
I have a case - problem solved.
"Return it for a refund".
If you can't live with either - then take your money and find another product.
If none of those three make you happy to wait for a fix or find another phone - then may i suggest the problem lies less with apple and more with maintaining a mature attitude to consumer purchasing.
Its grown men whining like spoilt schoolgirls demanding everything from free bracelets to hugs and puppies that is the problem.
The solution is patience and keeping calm.
Wow, this thread has reached many thousands of replies... that's pretty silly.
In other news... you all have too much time on your hands - it is not an issue, any more than standing on a hose will lower the pressure to your sprinkler - SO DON'T STAND ON THE HOSE, THEN!.
Geesh - go outside and get some air, nerds. ^_^
You are totally contradicting yourself. First you say you don't expect the upcoming fix to solve the issue, but then you want to wait and see if Apple fixes the issue? Which one is it Bro???
No, from their comments, it is easy to come to the conclusion that no fix is coming and that people that suffer from the issue just wasted 600$ on an iPod Touch. Seeing how the phone is probably good for everything else, people are asking Apple to acknowledge the issue and that a fix is worked on, in order to justify keeping the handset.
Nothing unreasonable about it, except to every person here that personally designed the iPhone 4 antenna and feels threatened by the bad PR.
Except when the Apple hose loses twice the pressure as the second worst hose and 10 times as much pressure as their previous generation hose.
Your last statement is ironic. Practice what you preach next time.
Might I make a suggestion that iPhone 4 owners pay more attention to the special spot on their wives/girlfriends than the special spot on the iPhone 4?

Uhm... I am outside ;-)
Why, does it bother you that they are paying attention to their 600$ phone ?
Seriously, there's 24 hours in a day, can't people come on here and talk about this issue while also enjoying a great day outside and paying attention to their girlfriends ?
Why must everything be so one sided all the time ? I spent the day outside, in the pool, on my motorcycle, all while being with my girlfriend. Now I have sometime to post here, so I do.
What makes you think half the people in this thread aren't ?
Dude, go back to your own life, and tend to it. Seriously, just... shush. Why do you even care, by justifying yourself to strangers?. I couldn't care less what anyone who is not my family/friends on the 'net thinks... why are you bothering to react?.

If this thread could be somehow turned into video format... it would be on failblog!.
