Unless I confirm Apple will provide a prorated refund of my annual Apple Music subscription, this bundle isn’t worth it for me until July 2021.

From now through February, I’ll pay $10/month which includes Music (paid in advance for a year), 2 TB iCloud ($10/month), TV+ (free through Feb), Fitness+ when released (3-months free because I bought an Apple Watch). It wouldn’t make sense to pay an additional $20/month to get Arcade and News+, which cost less than that to add on individually.

March through June, I’ll pay $25/month (adds $10/month for Fitness+ trial ending, plus $5/month for TV+ trial ending). At this point, I can weigh if it makes sense to pay another $5/month for News+/Arcade.

Finally, in July, my monthly would go to $35/month (adding $10/month for Apple Music monthly), which is the first time the bundle is a no brainer.

The stacking trials, not knowing when Fitness+ service/trial kicks in, etc. creates a bizarre disincentive to sign up until months after Fitness+ and the Apple One bundles are introduced.

No, that's not true. Only songs and videos added directly from Apple Music have DRM. Not the matched songs, whether or not they are in the Apple Music catalog.

I've been in contact with Apple support about this for about 1 year.

When my iTunes Match subscription expired with an active Apple Music subscription, some matched songs disappeared, dozens matched songs stopped playable, thousands matched songs lost their match (no cloud status), hundreds of matched songs became Apple Music (some have never been on digital platforms, such as recorded live, rare tracks ...) it’s very funny to see the details of a song, with date added to the library in the early 2000s and says it belongs to Apple Music ... A nightmare that does not end!
Thanks for this info! So based on your experience am I asking for trouble in thinking I can cancel my Match subscription in favor or Apple Music?

Not sure if this has been answered yet, but what if you already purchased a year of Apple Music? Is that prorated into the price or do you just lose it? I have 8 months left.

I currently subscribe to a family plan with 2TB of icloud data, I do not share the data with my family as I need it for myself. I only share the apple music and other subscriptions with them. With Apple one can I still select who has access to the icloud data?

I currently subscribe to Apple Music (Family), Apple TV+, and 200 GB of iCloud Storage.

The Apple Support website says:

If Apple One costs less than your current subscriptions, you will not get a free trial so that you can immediately start saving money.

The Apple Support agent says that I should be eligible for a free trial, but between the wording, and what I'm seeing on this forum, I'm under the impression that I won't be eligible. Which is correct?

If I'm eligible for a free trial, I'd rather subscribe to Premiere for my free month.

Unless, I can do a Family free trial, and then get a free trial of Premiere in the Spring, since I'm considering getting Premiere in the Spring anyway.

What country is your App Store and subscriptions ? It’s only released in certain markets at the moment.

no I get that but the fact that my portuguese account is showing click here to'try it now' with regards to apple one suggests its available here.

What a joke...200 GB for a family is a crock. They give 50 GB to a individual, but a family of 6 get's 200...math dont add up. I know this is why they do it, but I'm a family of 2 forced into a 2 TB plan because I'm just over 200 GB...
What a joke! I have 200GB and an individual plan has 50GB, so I’m four people, or something, I don’t know. What a joke? Math, who gets that? Or is that short for Mathew?

So my dad just bought the premium plan.

I currently have an Apple Music plan that runs out at midnight tomorrow. In the family sharing section of my phone it shows that he has shared everything with me except Apple Music.
On his phone it says he has shared everything including Apple Music.

Does this mean I’ll continue paying until midnight tomorrow and then his sharing will switch on for me on Sunday for Apple Music. All other services are sharing at the moment, just Apple Music that isn’t.

EDIT: When he added my mum who didn’t have any services, all of them showed up as shared for her including Apple Music.

My current Apple TV subscription runs through Feb 2021. If I start an Apple One Premier bundle, do I lose those remaining months and start paying for Apple TV immediately?

Just signed up for the free trial and this is the message I got.

I actually have no idea what that means. Guess I will find out in a month’s time.

Oh, that sounds good. Thanks for sharing it. I’m interpreting that as your existing Apple Music subscription will be included in Apple One. Does that mean that they remove $8.25 (the discounted annual rate per month) or does it refund you your unused portion?

Either way, as much as I’d love to get on this plan, my tv+ expires in February, my AppleMusic expires in April, and I’ll get 3 months of Apple Fitness free since I purchased an Apple Watch 6.

I’ll sign on in February. I’m only missing out on Arcade which granted, I wanted to try but I don’t currently subscribe and can live without.

I am actually in the same boat. My Apple Music and arcade subs are annual plans which expire next April, while my TV+ sub is good till next Feb.

Apparently, I will receive a pro-rated refund next month.

I guess I could and should have waited will at least Feb next year, but I just like the idea of bringing everything under one single subscription umbrella.

This is all very confusing and I'm usually on top of these like this. So hard to find an answer. Appreciate any help.

I have two IDs. One for iCloud (Account 1) and one for iTunes Music (Account 2). I purchased Apple One through my Account 1. However my Apple Music subscription is through Account 2. How do I merge accounts or can I now cancel my iTunes Music account?

An overview of the three tiers of Apple One available:
  • Individual: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for $14.95 per month
  • Family: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage for $19.95 per month, can be shared among up to six family members
  • Premier: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and 2TB of iCloud storage for $29.95 per month, can be shared among up to six family members
The prices in Australia:
  1. Individual - $19.95
  2. Family - $ 25.95
  3. Premier - $39.95
I wish you could customize and pay yearly instead of monthly.

Some of us have received an AppleTV+ Monthly credit until April 2021 due to an adjustment Apple had done last month. How will that be affected with subscribing to Apple One for any tier?

Worked for me, but they do charge the full monthly price even if you already subscribed to all the individual services and were recently charged for them. Not sure if they’ll pro rate a refund, add time at the end, or you just are sucking up a potential double-charge for your first month.
Apple REALLY needs to be communicating items like this very clearly and openly - not having to deal with a case by case call or chat with support. Moreover they should've been more prepared for this.

I did the math and I’ll actually save money since I’m currently paying for News and 2TB. If it’s true that my remaining 6 months of Apple Music is refunded, then it’ll really work out nicely as I’ll get $49.50 back. Plus they’re giving us a free month.

Update: my annual Apple Music disappeared from my subscriptions fitting in with the idea that I’ll be refunded for what was left. My Apple News (monthly) remained.

Update 2: I was able to cancel my News subscription 2 days before I’d be charged for it. Doesn’t look like it’ll be included in my free trial still. I should’ve cancelled it first before subscribing to Apple One.

Hmm, they needed to work this through better (as many people have pointed out):

I had:
2 TB iCloud (rollover on the 22nd)
Music (rollover on the 1st)

I signed up for the 1 month trial for Premier and now have:

4TB - Existing 2TB "renews on 11/22/20"
Music - "This subscription will be included in Apple One starting Nov 30, 2020"

Would have though those auto-cancel and roll into the trial; does this now mean I should cancel my active subscriptions and assume a) service just enable in Apple One and b) I get a pro-rated refund on the storage subscription?

You should get a refund on Apple Music.

I think you would need to cancel the iCloud Storage.

I have iTunes Match and don't have Apple Music but I was under the impression that iTunes Match was part of Apple Music. Does Apple Music not upload the songs in your library that are not in Apple Music?
It does. Not sure why few people know such a fact.
