From a student's point of view, I don't quite get the logic -- but I want to. On a student sub., you get Apple TV bundled for free with Apple Music, for $4.99. And you can just buy 200GB iCloud storage for $2.99.

So I pay $8.00 a month for those THREE services (TV, Music, Cloud). Whereas the $14.95 Individual One package has only 50GB, so that's no good. I need 200GB. So, the individual package can be bundled with iCloud for $18, total. Therefore, in sum, I would be paying over TWICE what I am currently paying, just for the arcade, and an extra 50GB of storage?

Something is not right here. They haven't thought this thru. I realize not everyone is a student, but there are a lot of student users out there who will not go for this.

So I’ve signed up to premier and added a family member. Apple Music doesn’t give me the option to ‘add’ music on the added family member and when we play a song it comes up offering a free trial for 3 months then 9.99 a month after.

What gives?

I subscribed to the Premier Plan, but I’m unable to share Apple Music with my family. Is this in error since it’s so new? Every time I try to share Apple music with family it takes me directly to the Apple Music app to choose the family plan for $14.99. Any ideas?
This happened to me a month ago. If someone already has a subscription, it has to run out before it will automatically switch to family plan. I woke up the day of my subscription running out and it switched over automatically. There was no way to do a manual switch before it ran out.

I'm exactly in the same boat.

My monthly renewals for News and Apple Music came through about 20 mins after signing up for the Premier tier.

No refunds showing in my purchase history as yet.
Good news, refunded in full now. Didn’t raise an issue so the refund was automatic 156FFD3D-11CE-4962-B0B6-073C6B90F4BF.jpeg

Whats not to get? The plan is not meant for students...

Interesting. So, I was looking at doing the Premier option myself, and I am the Family Organizer currently. In my family are two people who have Apple Music free from Verizon. If I were to do this and sign up I would wonder if nothing changes for those two users. Their Apple Music is in perpetuity and will never go away unless they specifically cancel with Verizon. I would be okay with that as it doesn't impact me and the other two users on my Family who don't have Apple Music free from Verizon.

Also this was a general question to everyone and not a specific reply. I just wanted to quote yours for context.

Everything has refunded for me except my Apple Music family plan now. Will see wha happens with it and if it doesn’t get refunded I’ll call support.

So, why do you think Apple bother doing student pricing at all, in that case? Or educational discounts on almost all their hardware? If the rationale exists in almost everything Apple does, then I'm curious why they aren't seeing that rationale here, too.

At the current rate, the leap in price for me is not justified. And there are hundreds of thousands of people just like me, in the USA alone. That's a big market, and one that Apple is usually pretty anxious to retain.

I wonder if anyone can recall when educational pricing came out for Apple Music. It wasn't there at launch, if I remember. So perhaps this is something that will come later.

From what I am reading here is that it is directing you to move your iCloud over to the subscription account. can anyone confirm what happens to your existing iCloud data? Does it all migrate automatically? If so, I guess that is a step in the right direction, though my Apple Card will still be tied to a different iCloud account 😢

Actually thats not what its doing. Apple is asking you if you'd like to apply the iCloud storage purchased in Apple One to your iCloud account, if that iCloud account is different to the appleId used to purchase Apple One. Your iCloud cloud DOES NOT CHANGE.

So, it’s more of the same then.

In Portugal. Only found it due to this thread. Why isn’t it in the App Store front page ? Anyway go into settings. Subscriptions. It’s not there. Scroll down and scroll up again and it says Apple one. Learn more. Press that and get a white screen like it’s trying to load a page but failing. Repeat and get the same

OK I finally got it to work. Be warned the price is not prorated. I literally just had my Apple Music payment come off my Apple Card yesterday and I was charged full price today for the bundle.
They refund anything you already paid.

I love the idea of this. However I ran into problems when obtaining the Apple One subscription. I had a 3 month free trial with Apple Arcade when I purchased my new iPhone 12. When I obtained Apple One, the Apple Arcade trial was stopped and expired. Now I cannot use Apple Arcade until 30 Nov. I called apple support but they say there is nothing they can do unless I want to pay for a months Apple Arcade until my One subscription starts which I’m not prepared to do as I already had a three month free sub to this. Very disappointed and frustrated.

I did receive an automatic partial refund for my iCloud Storage however.

Anyone concerned about double paying with recently renewed subscriptions.

Take a look at your payment history and you will find any recent individual subscriptions for apps included in Apple One have been refunded.

What country is your App Store and subscriptions ? It’s only released in certain markets at the moment.
