Today marks one month since the launch of Apple One, which allows customers to subscribe to multiple Apple services in a single bundle, and it appears there are some billing-related issues as the free trial period begins to elapse.

Apple-One-Apps-Feature-2.jpg

Apple One includes a 30-day free trial for any services that customers did not already subscribe to individually, and that trial period ends today for those who signed up for Apple One on its first day of availability. Following the end of the trial period, however, some customers are seeing their Apple One subscription listed as expired and/or have been billed individually for services like Apple TV+ and Apple Music that should be rolled into Apple One.

All in all, there are clearly some hiccups going on as Apple One converts from a trial to a standard subscription, so hopefully Apple is able to sort out the issues soon.

Apple One allows customers to save money by bundling services together with one unified bill. At the low end, the Individual tier offers savings of $6 per month, while the Family plan offers a savings of over $8 per month, and the Premier plan offers a savings of over $25 per month, compared to standard monthly pricing. There are three tiers of Apple One available:
  • Individual: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for $14.95 per month
  • Family: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage for $19.95 per month, can be shared among up to six family members
  • Premier: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and 2TB of iCloud storage for $29.95 per month, can be shared among up to six family members
Curently, the Premier tier is limited to the United States, Australia, Canada, and the UK, as these are the only countries where Apple News+ is available. Premier will also include access to Apple's new workout service Fitness+, which launches later this year.

I did Premier for the 1 month free trial and decided to switch to Individual. I was charged correctly today.

They've taken £30 out 3 times already today and then refunded it 10 mins later.... I spoke to Apple Support and they told me it must be an error with PayPal (who I used to sign up) and I should contact them instead!
I changed my payment method to my Visa card and signed up to it again (as it was now marked as expired) and that has gone through, but I now have to wait a few days for the £90 to go back to my account!

So my first month of Apple One has so far cost me £120!!!!!

A lot of people didn't read that the One trial was only for services you were not subbing already. You had to manually cancel your running subscriptions beforehand!

you still have your iCloud storage subscription active. if you don't need the extra 2TB and are subscribing to Apple One, you'll need to cancel it.
The iCloud storage subscription doesn't even show up any more, but Apple TV+ and Apple Music show "Active" and Apple One Premier is "Expired".

Yep, iTunes is stopping my music playing and asking me to subscribe on iMac. I have the top tier Apple One subscription trial.

On my account Apple autmoatically cancelled Apple Music, News+, Apple TV, Extra 2TB storage and refunded the amounts charged for that month when signing up for premier.

I cancelled all the other apple services when I signed up for apple one earlier this month. Unfortunately, once those subscriptions ended I lost access to the services. I haven't had apple tv+ for the entire month (not too big a deal) but yesterday apple music stopped and news about a week ago. Apple One was active the whole time but when I would go to music/tv/news the apps acted like I had no active sub. Today, when Apple One said it was supposed to end the trial period, nothing happened and I still didn't have access to the other services. I ended up cancelling Apple One and starting it again and now everything is working. Somebody messed up big time.

Yep, and as soon as one picks up they’re getting a loud earful from me.
Dude that "technician" is a low-level employee who is there to help solve your problem and had zero to do with it. That loud disappointment is reserved up-stream for which unfortunately you'll never be able to vent your frustration. Be polite with the customer service rep, calmly voice your displeasure which will be passed along with all the other complaints creating a large common sh!tstorm of complaints that will reach the uppers. Then get on with your problem in a rational way as the customer service rep is there to help you and will try their best. Nothing will be accomplished by your flipping out other than making yourself feel good for a minute in the most entitled, douchbag way.

I was billed 29.95 for premier and then refunded 29.95 straight away. Subscription shows as active.

Yeah this is the correct way but a lot of people thought running subscriptions would be included in their trial and cancelled them. That's why a lot of people get the prompt to resubscribe to MUSIC and so on.
