Don't say that! If what you say comes true, then I will have to sell all my belongings to be able to afford not only a new ipad but also a macbook pro with thunderbolt!
GO and get in line RIGHT NOW...

I wondered the same. If I knew they were in stock, I would so swing by there on the way home today.
I want to pick one up from Best Buy because I have a gift card for that amount. However, Best Buy is such a pain to deal with.
Don't hold your breath!
Please let me be the first person to tell you to shut UP. I would put large sums of money on the no retina thing and it shocks me that people are a) still expecting it and b) going to be whining when it doesn't happen.
I hope hope hope you're just a troll.
BB should be one of the first retailers to get them after the apple store.
And that'll be about it. I think you'll see a drop in iPad pricing overall because they have to get people excited about the modest changes, and because they know that the consensus is to wait until iPad 3, which is apparently around the corner as early as Fall.

While today's event concerns the imminent release of the iPad 2, it will be more of an iPad 1.5 release. Similar to when the iPhone went from 3G to 3GS, I think iPad 2 will have some modest cosmetic changes (thinner and lighter) and introduce front/rear cameras. There will be improvements on the screen, but not to the level of "retina display." That'll be about it for the iPad 2, except for something new with the speaker and (out on a limb) display mini-port so you can use your iPad with a display - the iPad becoming a touch-keyboard.
More of the emphasis will be on Steve Jobs making a brief appearance, iOS 4.3 and the mysterious data center. iOS 4.3 will allow some sort of streamlined tethering. The data center will allow you to hold all your iTunes purchased music "in the cloud" for free, and for the current $99 MobileMe annual subscription price, you can "push" your ripped iTunes content into the cloud. I'm betting everyone gets about 100 gigs for the $99 MobileMe fee.

I bet their stock price drops about $10 today.
EDIT:
Wishlist - iPad no longer has to be synched with a computer. iPhones and iPads can synch against the iPad.
Someone's pissed about something...
Hes not asking for the world! Hes asking for LTE. It makes perfect sense to me. LTE is the new technology all cell companies are pushing. I would expect it to be a part of iPad 2.
That's not what Apple does. While it's being pushed it's not widely available yet.
ipad 3 MAY, just may have a combo chip with all the technologies on it, if possible. There are already all kinds of jams on the CDMA networks in all the countries where it is being used.
Can't wait for carrier independent chips and switching on the fly. I'd rather not have a subsidized version and would like a version that works anywhere I can get the best reception.
Kind of like a gas station approach you log in to the carrier in that area where the price and service is best and they charge you through itunes.
HA. To be so naive.Don't count on a free MobileMe. I just got a invoice this morning from Apple for my renewal and a separate email thanking me for renewing MobileMe.
When exactly is the event? I don't think any of the articles mentioned the time.
rly hopelive streams the event. I hate having to follow it in text. COME ON
! PLZ!
That mock-up is butt ugly.
Can wait to see what the real one will look like.![]()
