I always look forward to Apple media events....I have the original iPad, which I love (especially with the new DirecTV app)....but I plan to leapfrog to the 3rd version...if you don't have an iPad, I'd recommend the new one; if you do have one, I'd leapfrog, especially since the 3rd version may arrive in the last Q this year, and may have the retina screen that's been rumored....

...should be a fun day...the best part would be seeing Jobs there and looking healthy...more important than anything that will be debuted today....

I think there will be a live stream again. They typically don't announce it on the website until an hour or less before kickoff. Watch the bottom of www.apple.com for the link. That's where I've found it in the past.

...Kind of like a gas station approach you log in to the carrier in that area where the price and service is best and they charge you through itunes.

Although this would be ideal, I doubt any of the telcos would approve this model - as will surely take their 30% for making the "handshake" from device to telco.
