Why would that merit an event?

Same reason why a company worth billions of dollars with some of the best tech people in the world, needs to take down a whole website for a couple of hours just to add a few new items.

They're updating the pages to just show a photo of Tim Cook dumping a palette of Minis and Pros into a garbage compactor.
There must be an easter egg where if you click three times in top right corner it changes to Phil Schiller innovating his ass.

By now I am convinced that rMB will be updated tomorrow, because the one I ordered on Friday with same day delivery still isn't here at 10pm on Monday. There are two options. Either they realise I will return it, opened and used for two days when the new model is out, or they owe me an apology. It must be the first, because Dutch customer service never apologise for anything.

If rMB gets updated tomorrow, I demand that my username is changed to "well-respected, generally reliable analyst navaira".

OK, I clicked a bit through Dutch Apple Store, because I kept my evening free to play with my new Macbook that I didn't receive. It better get updated tomorrow.

rMB delivered Wednesday (normal), Air, Mac Mini, iMac – same
Mac Pro page doesn't open at all
iPad Pro 9.7 Wednesday (normal)
iPad Pro 12.9 28 march-4 april, no matter colour/capacity
iPad Air 2 "within three weeks", no matter colour/capacity

It's normal I don't think there are any indications about up coming products. It will be interesting to see what is updated tomorrow if anything is.

I just bought a 64GB iPhone SE a couple of weeks ago, because the power port of my 5E was getting very picky about how the power cord was positioned before it would take nourishment, and I don't believe the 128GB rumors.

So tomorrow we see who fooled whom. Maybe me on both sides of the equation.

Did you actually recieve a shipping notification and tracking number, or is it still in the Preparing for Shipment stage?

Maybe they figured out, from their last Keynote, that it would be wiser to just release new products along with a press release without trying to talk things up too much. Esp. when it's not really a new product.

ipod classic with 1 TB of storage lol

Dipped in gold for $10,000. Innovation and courage at its finest.

Seriously Apple WTF? You're one of the largest most profitable companies out there and you can't be bothered to at least spec bumb your hardware on a yearly basis? If you expect customers with a brain to pay the same amount for a non upgradeable laptop or desktop today as when it first came out without a spec bumb then you're smoking crack and losing out on the potential revenue from users who aren't going to play that game. I've been waiting for a refreshed Mac desktop line for a while. Once a model has been out there for a year and hasn't at least had a spec bump or a fair price drop then I'm not buying it and I'm sure I'm not alone. Apple is losing a ton of potential sales due to its absolute unwillingness to at least do a yearly spec bumb with their existing product lines, either that or drop prices and combine that with making a line of desktops and laptops that users can upgrade themselves.

I assume nothing much will be added, but things will be taken away. I've been trying to decide about getting an iPod nano to be a backup for my iPod Classic (which is still fine but getting older every day), or waiting to update the guts of the Classic myself when it finally fails. Today I went ahead and ordered the nano before Apple can decide to get rid of that, too.

I guess I no longer hope for new and better things from Apple, but only fear the loss of what good remains.

My predictions:

iPad Pro 2 12.9" — A10X 10 nm — 6 GB RAM
iPad Pro 2 9.7" — A10X 10 nm — 3 GB RAM [maybe]
iPad Pro 9.7" — A9X 16 nm — 2 GB RAM [existing model]
iPad Air 3 9.7" — A9 16 nm — 2 GB RAM
iPad mini 4 7.9" — A8 20 nm — 2 GB RAM [existing model]
iPad mini 2 7.9" — A7 28 nm — 1 GB RAM [existing model] [maybe]

(prices are for the base models)

I'll make a guess on the A10X:

  • 3 Hurricane cores
  • 0 Zephyr cores (so no Fusion)
  • 12 cluster GPU
