I've been really looking forward to this,
But alas my bank is not listed, (Clydesdale Bank)
May have to swap to the HSBC

Yeah, but I don't live in London. That's a long way to go to try Apple Pay. Any news on when it might be more widely useable.

I'm not as excited as I would have been about six months ago, as most of the shops I go to now accept contactless card payments, which frankly is brilliant. Now I don't feel the need for my iPhone to do it

Having said that, it will be handy to have, as I often misplace my bank card and spend ten minutes searching for it before leaving the house ... Always have my phone though ;)

Also, Halifax, Lloyds, Bank of Scotland and TSB (all Lloyds Banking Group) won't have it until Autumn :( doesn't bother me enough to switch banks though

Well, security is probably one of the main reasons!

I agree, always misplacing my card so this will be handy :)

I'm excited. Will be nice to pay for items that are above £20 (soon to be £30) too. Likely will use a combo of contactless/Apple Pay depending on the place and the price!

Oyster card on my iPhone/watch! Now that is a real coup. Apple have also included my bank....double coup.

Security? Do you mean the finger print? That's a fair point, also, now I think about it ... Can you spend as much as you want on this or is it still the £20? If so, I may just be 17% more excited?

250k places in the UK, so as @shortcrust said, so a lot of places up and down the country to do contactless with
Yep. I've just read an Article a little more carefully. If there is no barclays, I presume that means no barclaycard. That for sure is going to mean a change of credit card.

It seems odd that there is no Barclays. I'm currently beta testing the Mobile Banking watch app, which made me think they were keen on new tech, perhaps not!

I'm not sure about the spending limit.

But there is much more to it than Touch ID.

All details are on this page - https://www.apple.com/apple-pay/

Also, I'm pretty sure any contactless reader will work with Apple Pay.

In the U.S. they have special readers, I suspect it will be the same here, hence the small list of retailers accepting it

I thought the readers being rolled out in the US were just plain old contactless readers that happened to have an ApplePay logo. A lot of shops here already have contactless. I take your point about their list of retailers though. I suppose it won't hurt to try it somewhere its not officially supported.

The £20 limit is due to be increased to £30 later this year I believe. That's worth 8% excitement.

Fortunately first direct are on board, but if they weren't, and there was no announcement of future involvement, I think I would switch. I will definately dump my Barclaycard, which I have used for about 25 years. I don't suppose a huge amount of customers would switch due to support of Apple pay, but there will definately some.

I wonder if Barclays are working on something of their own?
