Your loss, I guess. To those who don’t use it, I know it doesn’t sound like a big deal, but I have to say that it’s pretty awesome to be able to pay for things with just a wave of your phone, and yes, given the choice between frequenting a store that supports Apple Pay and one that doesn’t, I’d definitely choose the former if all other factors are equal or even near equal.
Try visiting CVS tonight and I suspect you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I've seen one station that accepted Apple Pay, a recently renovated Sunoco. I agree that gas stations are a great place for Apple Pay, but I also use it everywhere I can. It's definitely my preferred means of payment and it affects where I'm willing to shop. The only place I would REALLY love to use AP is at gas stations (at the pump), where CC info is ripped off daily from card scammers. But, I've yet to see a pump that takes AP.
Hmmm...sarcasm or honesty? I think former. If so, I agree. It's just as easy to grab a CC and do the transaction that way.

I like the Exxon SpeedPass+ solution. An App that can use Apple pay, but that essentially moves the card reader to your phone. They probably saved thousands and got the solution out so much faster than having to add NFC readers at every pump. Many 7-Elevens, at least around here, haven't done any pump upgrades yet. And the one that I found with newer looking pumps had no external contactless readers. YMMV though.
WaWa.

I've seen several Chevron stations in the Seattle area with newer pumps that take Apple Pay.I've seen one station that accepted Apple Pay, a recently renovated Sunoco. Some Chevrons too.

Still not ideal, IMO, since I personally don't want 20+ apps--even if I don't have to re-enter my credit card details in every single one of them. Better than not having it at all I suppose.
I'd like to see more sit-down restaurants support it too, but gas stations first!

Faster Slurpees. MMMMMM. Just in time for summer!
In Canada, they bring the readers right to the table. And then you can pay with whatever method you like. So it has become a part of the sit down restaurant culture. More mobile readers here in the US would be great. On that note, I've noticed that restaurants in the US that support the chip aren't really adopting pay at the table (outside of the ones that already use tablets at every table). From what I hear it's because customers hated the concept when it was tried. We'll probably have to transition to a pay at the front model or rely on apps to support AP.
So does Apple Pay, one step removed no exact change needed, no jar full of change at home.I use cash.![]()

My local CVS got it like a week ago. Been waiting for 7-11.In my experience, most CVS locations already have for at least the last week or two.
The real issue is that many/most merchants in the US don't really like cards at all. Fix that and you'll fix a lot of the acceptance issues. (Or wait until there's enough customer demand, but that might be a while.)

The bolded part is the issue. Contactless cards aren't currently a thing in the US either, so those can't be used to justify adoption.
