Instead of a numeric keyboard, the touchpad would be in its place. The touch pad would have a capacitive multitouch screen which can display various types modes such as touchpad mode, numeric keypad mode, shortcut mode, or even a custom GUI mode per software. The GUI mode would be programmed by the software maker via a SDK to display info, shortcuts, special swipe modes, sliders, etc.
The downside or disadvantage to Magic Mouse (and Magic Trackpad) is the darn batteries only last about a month

Though, their's do seem like it would be a little better than Apple's. I think Apple may just be upgrading the current magic mouse.
If you need precision in graphics design then use a pen/tablet.

Apple has, however, often been ahead of the curve when it comes to discontinuing features it views as outdated, most recently with the removal of the integrated optical drive from the Mac mini.
This will be because the new Magic Mouse with WiTricity Power is comming out! they are just running stocks out IMO.
I love trackpads, but need a mouse.
They should just have an 'advanced' Keyboard that has an integrated trackpad.
We're talking primarily for swipe gestures, so put it across the top of the keyboard, it doesn't need to be big.
