Too much iPhone, iPad, iWatch in that article. Where are the redesigned MacBooks that we heard a rumor about? The stuff that matters.

Yes, it matters. But when iDevices are the bread and butter, you better believe they take precedence over redesigned macbooks...By a long shot. In fact, MacBooks are slowly morphing into i (like) devices anyway..Which you really don't want to hear about. So maybe you're actually better off without an update ;)

I'll say it again... I don't think 5.5 is a screen size - I think it's a model number instead. I think they will release two phones, like last year but this time it will be the 6 and the 5.5. In this case the 5.5 will be the plastic case of the 5c with the internals and TouchID lifted from the current 5s. The 5c will then cease to be...

I just don't see a >5" iPhone coming.

That is just so not Apple.

At least, it would be so contradictory on one thing, how would they explain the deep-minded one hand usage.

Lol, BGR claims beta 6 is coming August 15th? First of all, they hardly ever release betas on a Friday. Second, Mark Gurman's sources are almost always accurate, so I'm going to trust that the last beta is coming August 4th.

It's only the 4.7inch coming out. I will donate my house to a homeless person if the 5.5 comes out.

I just got a "phablet", a Windows Phone 8 (Nokia 1520). I was very hesitant to do so, after having an iPhone 5S. Unlike other people, I don't have a problem with the 5S size, and I think it was just about perfect.

BUT, I was torn between always wanting my tablet with me when wanting to read, or even browse the web. Personally, I think the tablets have spoiled me, because I remember being ecstatic in being able to browse the web on my original iPhone :)

That said, I really have come to appreciate it. I think the problem I have is more in the edges on Nokia's implementation of this "phablet" (I hate that word). The corners are not very rounded - unlike the iPhone 6 prototypes. Folks here may enjoy a larger screen iPhone more than you might think, particularly if you find yourself taking an iPad with you at the same time.

I couldn't wait due to work and development commitments (I am being contracted to work on a Windows 8 app), so I got the Nokia. But if I did wait to get the iPhone 6, I would have probably gotten the larger screen size so I have the divide of:

  1. Phone/Casual Browsing/Reading/Surfing (Lumia/other Phablet like 5.5" iPhone 6)
  2. Work / Serious Research/Reading (Surface Pro 3/other Laptop like Macbook Pro/Air)

Otherwise I sort of had 3 devices, and I never really had a clean separation between them. Now, I do.

But as they say - YMMV!

Is it just me or would you expect to have seen prototypes and part leaks for the iWatch come out by now if they were gearing for an October debut?

Unless they are doing what they did with the new Mac Pro and building it in their US factory so they can keep leaks at bay. However don't think that factory could handle the required volumes so this is unlikely isn't it?

Well, if there is an iWatch (and at this point, I am fairly certain there is), then Tim Cook has really made good on his promise to 'double-down' on secrecy. Maybe the iPhone leaks are more intentional from Apple to keep people busy on THAT rumor mill while at the same time, they keep high security on the iWatch project.

That sounds good, anyway ;)

Simple answer: $$$$$

Apple makes much more selling iOS devices

Apple still makes a ton of money of the Mac products. Intel is delaying the release of new Mac products by not releasing broadwell. Broadwell will help get rid of fans in the new MacBooks and free up some room.

I expect iPhone, iWatch, and AppleTV announcemnts.

Creating a USB install of Mavericks just in case Yosemite goes to hell in a hand basket. Thankfully all my important files are in the cloud.

At some point, Apple may have to move on from the one-hand usage mindset. Things evolve, and what Steve Jobs wanted during his lifetime may not always be what the consumers are asking for. Larger phones have become more popular than many people thought they would. Apple either adapts or risks losing customers.

Well I want an IP6 for sure. What other models have a similar 5.5" screen I can look at to decide?

I use my girlfriend's Galaxy Note 3 for comparison. It's just a little too big for me, who likes to carry my phone in my pockets. I'd prefer the size of the Galaxy S5 (5.1 inches), but 4.7 will suffice. I'm just tired of the 4-inch iPhone 5 that I have.

I guess there'll be an iPhone only event mid September with the new 4.7'' model and another event in October for the iPad, the iWatch and maybe some revamped Macs and Apple TV.
No iPhone 5.5 till 2015 in my opinion.

If they have done all that then I for one will be impressed at the level of cunning

Are we still on schedule for the flip flop reports of the 5.5" model coming out, or not? I forgot to keep up on if this is supposed to be the "on time" report or the "delayed" report.

Of course the timing is unclear. Because a 5.5 inch iPhone doesn't exist and never will exist. We'll be lucky to get a 4.3 inch iPhone this fall. So I said screw it and got the lg g3. lol

if the 5.5 ends up being that much of a big deal ill just recycle out the 4.7 how i usually do to older models. hopefully it is just a bigger screen which doesn't intrigue me so ill keep the 4.7.
