I wouldn't mind a remote with a gyroscope inside to move an onscreen selector around like the Wii. It could even add navigation buttons around a central button, like the iPods' click wheels.

I'm hoping for full 4K support though I'm not holding my breath for it. Is it possible for Apple to release 4K support as a software update later on or is it something that need to addressed right from the start?

Hope that this is the year that Apple releases an AppleTV with a App Store... but not sure i'll put my money on it.

Apple could make billions if they released the AppleTV with an app store and gamecontrollers.. instead apple choose to go all in on the apple watch... go figure.

I hope that if this rumor comes to pass, the new Apple TV will take advantage of iOS 9's ability to deep search within apps. The new picture-in-picture feature should come in handy as well. I could even see some use cases for slide over.

Pretty much an insta-buy for me. Especially if it has Siri voice control for video playback. It would be nice if I could use it to play games like Minecraft on the TV with my wife or my kid when she is a little older. The Apple TV might be one of the most used devices in our house. We don't even watch a lot of TV, but use it for AirPlay music, photo slideshows and stuff like that.

I hope someday when the hardware is a little more advanced that they sell a higher-end model with console-like graphics capabilities. Would be a great all-in-one in the living room. I could approve game purchases for the kids and keep tabs on what they're playing, and set limits for play as well. But they would need to fix the race-to-the-bottom problem on the App Store first. If we want quality games, we're gonna have to pay!

There are things they will need to include for full 4K support, such as H.265 decoding, HDMI 2.0 connectivity, HDCP 2.2 copy protection, and hopefully HDR for the vivid images that probably have more value than the resolution upgrade.

I hope Apple do it, there are plenty of apps that could use the resolution.

And then when the Apple TV 4K(pun intended) comes out next year you'll have to wait months and months before developers update their apps to support the new resolution.

Mmehh! Works fine for me as is. Just use airplay, and home share from my Macbook. Be interesting to see what gets released though.

the one bad thing about this super cool Touch Remote people want...batteries or plugging it in.

We have the Tiny Silver remote (I actually like it) and we have the Remote App...not what I expected, i wish it was better.
My little silver remote stays on top of the other remotes or on top of the AppleTV when not being used.
