Since today is the 22nd, releasing 8.4 GM would put it 8 days before final release. They would do it tomorrow, the 23rd so it would be exactly a week before final release. BGR didn't check their calendars.

Apple plans to seed iOS 8.4 Golden Master (GM), which has historically been release candidate software, to registered developers today ahead of the Apple Music launch on June 30, reports BGR. iOS 9 beta 2 is also reportedly scheduled for release today, although it is possible that the release date is pushed back by one week to next Monday, June 29.

The iOS 8.4 GM will succeed iOS 8.4 beta 4 and will most likely be the final pre-release version before the software update is publicly released. Apple Music for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch requires iOS 8.4, so the update should be released for all users within the next eight days, with the new streaming music service built into the revamped stock Music app.

Apple Music was announced earlier this month as an all-in-one streaming music service, live global radio station and social platform for artists to connect with fans. The subscription-based service will cost $9.99 per month after a three-month free trial for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC. Apple TV and Android versions of the service will be available in the fall.

My question is will Apple Music be available on iOS 9 Beta 2??

100% tomorrow. And bgr were 100% guessing about today. I say it'll happen 1 of 2 ways: 8.4 gm & 9.0 b2 tomorrow, or no 8.4 gm and full release + 9.0 b2 next Tuesday alongside apple music.

Highly doubt they'd release 8.4 to the public a day before apple music actually goes live, it'll cause mass hysteria

"WHY APPLE MUSIC NO WORK YET?"

Someone remind me, did Apple say iOS 9 Public Beta would be coming in July? Keen to get my hands on the News app, mostly. Never quite gotten on with Flipboard since Zite bit the dust. This new News app sounds far more Zite-esque.

Hahaha, yeah, not buying that, if you really were an AAPL employee with such knowledge you'd be packing your bags and getting the resume ready - not responding to your own other posts asking questions about iOS beta features (if you know the beta release date, why wouldn't you already know about feature specs? ;) )!

I can officially say that the beta will be out tomorrow around 10-11am PST
Source (me Apple employee running iOS 9 on a 6+)

While she may be trolling, the idea that everyone in Apple knows future specs is ... well, hilarious to say the least.

Beta 1's definitely on the warm side with its battery guzzling, plus it has plenty of 'hmmm, that's weird' moments. Utterly expected during beta.

It'd be nice if B2 restored battery performance, but I'm not counting on it. There'll still be a pile of unoptimised, debug-build code in there. It'd be more reasonable to expect release-build performance just one or two (maybe even three) betas before general release.

Bring back the customizable bottom bar! Why hide albums, playlists, etc. behind a menu just so they can put Apple Music at the forefront. I have not interest in it so I should be forced to open to it. Just like iTunes Radio.
Yeah, almost same as having to open the App Store to do updates! Why does the software update need to be a two, three step process? Just take me to the software update like before!

I hope it's tomorrow just so that BGR will be wrong. They always claim it will be every other week due to the usual pattern and every time Apple breaks the pattern they're wrong. MacRumors should stop acting like BGR is a credible source.

Betas on Tuesdays aren't unheard of. I would still wager more towards tomorrow than next week. Apple will want Apple Music to have a smooth roll out, so releasing the 8.4 GM a week in advance gives lots of buffer should something be awry.

Does that mean 9 Beta 2 tomorrow? Not necessarily, but again, it's very uncharacteristic for Beta 1 to last longer than 15 days.

So if I say it's coming sometime in the near future can I also be considered a reliable, important, and informed source worthy of articles written about my "guesses"?
