I'd day this is more of an issue with transferring the license of your music purchases - in fact, I'd bet the publishers have some archaic condition with Apple regarding this.

Hopefully they'll allow transfer / consolodation - particularly with non-apple related accounts. My Apple ID /developer account (and the account I have made all purchases with on the app store / iTunes etc) is a completely unrelated email address. I then also have a mobileme account, and additionally an iCloud account that was offered to me when setting my iOS5 beta up initially. A little silly. I'd pay a once off fee to merge them all under one @me.com Apple ID

Fine with me - transfer my emails/aliases and calendar/contact sync info from the MobileMe ID to the Apple ID I use for purchases. No license transfer necessary.

Is it just me or is the keyboard now an inch above the bottom of the screen?

I wish they would add 2finger swipe to go back a page in safari, just like on my Mbp

OTA installation failed

I just tried to update from b6 to b7 via OTA, and unfortunately, the install stopped, the device rebooted, and started up in DFU-mode. Currently, iTunes is downloading iOS 4.3 in order to restore.

The device is an iPad 2 WiFi. The OTA updated worked flawlessly on my iPhone 3GS. Hope it's not a general problem.

Straight out of an Apple support representative, decided to just ask for myself rather than pick through conflicting information.

You can migrate MobileMe to an existing iCloud account. That is, if you migrate your Apple ID to iCloud and has all your purchase history, and you have a separate Apple ID just for MobileMe, you don't have to manage two separate iCloud accounts just to keep all your information.

You need to download the full beta from developer site...

i updated just fine on my iPhone 4.....however my friend's 3gs is completely shot now. He updated OTA and now his phone is stuck in a constant cycle of Apple logo, restart, Apple logo, restart. It won't even recognize the phone in iTunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well thats weird since apple's documenation states that's not possible..... it says you cannot merge accounts.

There's no merging going on. iCloud is a separate service - you migrate accounts there. It seems the MobileMe migration is a different mechanic to the Apple ID migration. When you migrate MobileMe, you first migrate the Apple ID to iCloud then move the MobileMe account to that iCloud account, but apparently you can move it to the iCloud account of your choosing: including the iCloud account created when you migrated the original Apple ID.

It's not merging. For certain use cases, it's effectively merging accounts, but not technically. And there's lots of other use cases where people are still stuck with two (or more) accounts, but at least this covers one of the primary ones resulting from the misleading information when signing up for MobileMe.

Ringtones

I can now pick my own synced ringtones for all of the iphones tones (text, cal, alerts etc)

Was this possible in earlier beta's?

Hrm, I'm not so much interested in iOS for this one....

...I'm more so hoping they fixed iTunes Match. I guess I'll see shortly.

Is it me, or did Beta 7 just kill iCloud Match streaming????!!! Now it only downloads the songs...

Yep, although it starts playing when it's "buffered" and you can stop the download. Although, there's no way to delete songs, so it's kind of annoying. I can't listen to my whole library, because it won't fit on my phone (unless I'm missing something).
