Anyhoo anybody got anything positive to say about Xcode 4.2 GM or 10.7.2 GM? I'm in the process of downloading now but hesitant to install as I have a pretty major project to do for a client and I can't be dealing with bugs half way through development...not that 4.1 is very stable anyway.
you need to restore. I tried update but didnt work.
It all worked fine for me. Just syncing my backup back to the phone!
im getting error 3002 for something
im on windows, installed itunes beta 7 and it extracts the ipsw then gets an error message and stops.
do i need to restore first then upgrade because im just pressing shift and restore and selecting the ios5 gm ipsw.

Beta 9 includes iTunes match which is US only (for now). So, no doubt they're including Mac beta 7 so that devs outside the US who have not downloaded b9 don't have to do so.
Previous iOS builds need the device to be tied to a Dev account. Some people are saying this does although most not. I'd like to hear something definitive.

Interesting that you cannot update using this release and have to do a restore... i would think this is a bit complex for users considering how easy it has been before...

the notification center looks kinda crap only showing the weather ^^ is it far fetched to assume that we'll get more widgets at some point? i'm sure devs could come up with something as u an already decide what to show and what not. i guess the api isnt open to devs yet

the notification center looks kinda crap only showing the weather ^^ is it far fetched to assume that we'll get more widgets at some point? i'm sure devs could come up with something as u an already decide what to show and what not. i guess the api isnt open to devs yet
It's backward compatible. All push-notifications now will go into the notification centre. However, you can adjust back to pop-up if you want on all or specific apps (not that any would want to)

So the GM works without an developer account without any problems?
If we do a restore to iOS 5 because of the 3002 error, will we be able to bring our 4.3.5 backups onto iOS 5 or is it all lost?
Yea! Got my 4 restored to iOS 5 and now restoring my backup. I'll be having some fun while at work tonight.
