"The videos are so iconic that they have been endlessly parodied in commercials and on late-night comedy shows."

If "iconic" is substituted with "inane", I can buy that. That's the POINT of the parody. :)

The pencil ad to me seems as though it's trying to be the "Think Different," ad of today. I think it succeeded! One of the best in a very long time.

Why is the Asian kids playing piano and building rockets?! It's like they got home video of me as a kid.

The Ive ads are for the Apple faithful to swoon over. The majority of the population has no idea who he is, nor do they care. Furthermore, his cheerful doubletalk is annoying.

But ... if I ... tilt my head .. the other way .. it gives a wholleeeee new perspective on the world in front of me.

if I have to watch one more Jony Ive Scientology style head tilt brainwash video I'm going to have to throw up

You should call the cops. I hear they have a 70-80% chance of catching those guys that hold your face to your computer with a gun against your head while they press play and make you watch.

I know its a sore topic but..

I'm expecting Samsung to copy many elements from the design and tech to these great commercials. Anyone notice the shaky finger in the Samsung junk watch commercials?

The pencil ad is very good, until they announce the iPad's name. Still think iPad Air is too cliché, even for Apple.

I love the background theme in this ad. Does anyone know where I can find similar music though?

I think it fits. I didn't care for the macbook air name when I heard it but it made sense after I held one.

What are the apps

Hi there,
I like very much the video "life on ipad"
And i would like to know what is the app they are using in the dancing scene.
Anyone ?
Thank you

Anyone notice that the first table the pencil is on looks very similar to the aluminum one that Ive designed for the auction? Maybe that Apple's way of expensing part of their extra curricular design budget.

Not the same in the elegance and message vs Samsung pencil Ad

Hahaha! Thats funny! The Apple one is better. Apple even does COPYING better than samsung!

Not quite the same. Apple shows how it is used across many industries from Geological, Medical, Science to Creative Arts while Samsung’s pencil add was ONLY to show how to deceive the child who can only see across the side profile of the desk by hiding the tab with a pencil. Apple demonstrates with the pencil a revolutionary replacement of the age old manual writing device (the pencil) while also showing their products as widely accepted as an industry standard of excellence in reliability and efficiency among professionals and everyday individuals. Samsung as usual, there is no dimension, no innovation. Its clear why they are vulnerable to absorb so much “inspiration” from their competitors.

It still stinks of copying.

I mentioned that in an earlier forum post.. I was wondering... If it is, I gotta have it! (Or maybe a replica.. :p)

EDIT: Found out that it isn't.. There's too big a difference in the angles of the legs...

Of course, and I agree 100%. I was merely kidding (as I'm sure all the "see, Apple is the one copying now" comments soon). Other than the tablets hiding behind the pencil, the two ads are completely different. I happen to really like the direction the latest apple ads are going.

Was that Ive's table he designed in the beginning of the video? The big ole aluminum one?

There are quite a few Apple ads I don't like. This iPad Air ad is the best ad I've seen from any company in a long time. VERY well done. I mean 99% of the video is of a pencil. This is not the usual Apple fare. Something somewhere was shaken up.

How cold does the temperature have to be, for the iPad to function correctly. I am just wondering after seeing that mountain scene at the end of the ad.

Also is it me or does Jony always seem to be wearing the same t-shirt in apple ad's. Good iPad pencil ad though.

Those Jony Ive videos make he look SO weird. I don't know if it's the stare into an empty point below the camera, the perpetually curved down eyes or the... very... slow... talking, but it doesn't look someone who is well.
