Does Ive have a "on camera" t-shirt? Correct me if Im wrong but isnt that the same shirt he wears in all videos he is in?

What's with all the Jony Ive hate today?

Anyway, nice pencil ad.

I never understood statements like that. No one "Hates" Ive and he is good at designing cases or whatever it is he does - but I see no reason to droll over him while he smirks at the camera and repeats the same tired sales-pitch he has spewed a million times before.

Life on iPad song

Anybody know the name of the song used for this commercial? Love to get a copy of it.

I'm liking the 'Pencil' ad, but I did notice a reaccuring theme in the first video.

Most of people using the new style iPad Airs (with the thinner side bezel) were holding it primarily in the landscape position. Where as the ones holding an iPad in the portrait position were using an old style iPad.

That's the main reason I'm not 'totally' diggin' the new iPad Airs. I use an iPad for reading first, movies/games second. I wish they'd left the sides alone and just made it thinner and lighter.

Just my 2¢

What do you expect him to say. He really has little understanding of the technology. He designs pretty cases and throws around words like magical, sexy, elegant, and delicious.

Gosh. You have a huge misunderstanding of Jony if you think that's the case. Maybe his early days were about design only; but you have to understand how tech works to make sure the design is right it.

I wish Jony would get on stage (or someone else) and show the products on stage rather than relying on Jony's videos. Maybe it was a wish by Steve not to allow anyone to show iDevice's on stage. Or it's a silly exec decision.

How about nothing...these videos are stupid; but I guess they suck people in with how "magical" everything is.

Someone needs to get Johnny Ive help for his tech anorexia, i want to see an innovate design that beings new features and functionality to a device (say wireless charging, waterproof, port less design (all connective by Wifi and blutooth for Syncing / audio etc) than this damp squib of an upgrade, its like dating a super model owning an iPad now, sure it was cool and awesome at the start, but now its looking thin and I'm wondering why i actually have it around when other tablets are chunkier, but have WAY more to them that this vapid, shallow device witch ends up just being eye candy 90% of the time as its useless when you ask it to REAL work..

just my opinion..

still love my iPad mini...but , its not a workhorse, its the toy i use when traveling, if i need serious work doing, i reach for surface pro, (Hackintoshed of course)..

i wish apple would release an iPad PRO now we have the iPad air, something that is basically a Mac Book air, but with a touch screen, removable keyboard and the ability to run FULL osX as well as iOS apps.. that would be a killer system imo

Gosh, I think that it's you that has the huge misunderstanding. A good example is the case of the iPhone 4 where Apple's Antenna engineers repeatedly tried to tell Ive and Jobs that putting the antenna outside the case was a bad idea and they simply wouldn't listen.

The Apple III is probably the most famous example of Jobs taking design into his own hands with very little understanding of the technology.... And Jobs and Ive certainly shared identical beliefs as to the importance of design...

I was a big fan of Jobs' ideas, and I admire Ive's designs (some of them)... But let's not inflate his technical abilities. And yes, I do believe at times Jobs' insistence of trying to adapt Ive's "elegant and gorgeous" designs (which is being carried on to this very day) caused (is continuing to cause) problems that a more traditional design would not of had....

When you hear statements like "You know, it's true, when something exceeds your ability to understand how it works, it sort of becomes magical.” I have to laugh ...... No it doesn't and no it's not... That sounds like the statement of an amateur salesperson talking down to a bunch of 10 year olds... It's just a very silly statement.

using a pencil in space

was a disaster apparently, the graphite from the pencil -even tho it was a tiny amount- used to go into the air intakes and cause short circuits etc so was considered a serious hazard, despite the urban legend of the russians using them instead of ballpoint pens. i guess for the average person watching that ad it doesn't matter at all but being an MR follower i am now outraged

How about an Apple branded "pencil" to use on the iPad?

How about no. :D
The whole idea behind a multi-touch screen is to get rid of the stylus ("pencil").

"Who wants a stylus ? You have to get them and put them away and you loose them. Yuck !"
- Steve Jobs, iPhone Keynote 2007.

Well, we wouldn't want to "loose" them......

Jobs said a lot of stuff that he changed his mind about (People don't read, video doesn't work on iPods, Tablets are going to fail). A good stylus would improve input on many apps...

Why must hero worship be the part of every conversation? So what if Jobs didn't like a stylus. He was wrong more than once.

And you know this how? If you think all he does is design "pretty cases" you obviously don't understand much yourself. ;)
