Apple Posts iPad Mini Intro, TV Ad, and Keynote Video

Poor Jony, he must reek after wearing the same T-shirt for 10 years and being locked inside a white room where they have him say random adjectives they can edit together to promote any product they want.

"It's magicifantly amazilicious."

"Cut, print, next."

"The exquisite chromesticity of the diamond polished chamfered anodized aluminium unibody edge provides a perpendicularly pontificant and lush contrast to the rugged aesthetic of the silky crispness of the hammered bezel that appears to float in mid air"

"Cut, print, next."

"And to think that something so thin and so light could be lighter than something so thin..."

"Cut, print, next."

"You want to lick it with your penis."

"Cut, print, next."

"AluminIum".

"Cut, print."
:D Hahahaha! I would love to see such video!!!

LOL, Americans seem to have a thing for English accents, more and more of them showing up on TV. I think they find them "authoritative". I find them pretty annoying, especially the broad ones

You're welcome, matey.

"There is inherent loss in just reducing a product in size"

Then they reduced the product in size.

Guess you didn't bother to watch the keynote OR the iPm video. Sad to make comments without any knowledge of the product.

I swear to god they only use him because of his accent.
Yeah, probably has NOTHING to do with him being the Senior VP of design.

So you only care about 'the hottest christmas item' when theres an apple logo on it?
No, he doesn't care that you want a nexus 7.

No, they just think they sound intelligent.

Either way, he does draw your attention and keep you interested and believing what he's saying... at least for the first one or two times you see him touting a new product.

Course, he's done the same thing as far as I can remember since the introduction of the Power Mac G5 (maybe since before then, but pre-2003 streaming wasn't real big so I never really saw him..)

It gets old fast.

Not a fan of the advert. If your average person (i.e not a MacRumors member) was to see that on TV they would have no idea that it wasnt just the same iPad they have been seeing advertised for 3 years now. The front of them all look the same.

Well, the English do love to whinge, don't they.

It's true, we do. Though in fairness we do usually have a valid point to make :p

I suppose it's comparable to some of the older American gentlemen. Numerous times I've spoken to a random guy when in the US (normally standing somewhere waiting for someone, or having a smoke) and all they go on about is how "we like the English" and how "we dont like the French, but nobody does".

I find it amusing when people say "Are you English, or Australian" - seriously the accent isn't even close. It's like me asking "Are you American or Irish".

I can distinguish American from Canadian perfectly fine :)

Other iPad mini special event highlights:
Still addicted to the iPad Mini? I really believe the new iMac and Fusion stole the show. It was an Apple hardware event. Not just iPad Mini + insignificant others as you claim it is.

But I'm not sure you give a ****.

Jony Ive could literally talk about taking a dump and make it sound like he's reinventing the wheel...

J.I: When you consider the remarkable efforts required to take a dump, there's something... almost magical about the outcome. And rather than simply follow through, iDump meets the same precision and quality that you would expect from our products.

Cue Coldplay instrumental.

S.F: iDump is THE BEST way to relieve yourself! It features our latest and greatest ADump5 processor for truly remarkable performance, and when you've had enough, you simply switch to iNeedToStopDumping...

Yeah, they've entered the realm of self-parody now. Last night's keynote left me with an uncomfortable feeling in my gut... like, "I love your products, please don't be weird creepy aliens, I don't wanna know that that's what you are, anymore than I wanna see documentaries on how hot dogs are made."

^ This

Jony Einstein or same iPhone 5 shoot?

Is he wearing the same grey t-shirt from the iPhone 5 commercial, meaning it's the same shoot? Or is he Einstein like regarding wardrobe? 10 of the same so no wasting time choosing clothes? :)

...and to get in the obligatory "aloominium"

Well refined Sir Ive.

I thought I saw him sitting front row, anybody catch that?

Very much so. A talented guy, who seems to rub people the wrong way. Wonder what his future with APPLE is.
At the beginning of the keynote when Tim came on stage the video panned to the front row all the hardware guys were enthusiastically clapping, Jony Ive had a big smile on his face. Then they showed Scott Forstall and no smile at all. in fact the look on his face was like he thought he should be the one on stage not Cook. :p

Hilarious, as always. Another of Ive's wisdoms:

"From the very beginning the iPad was designed to be very powerful, very capable, but also remarkably simple to use. So our goal was to take all the amazing things that you can do with a full size iPad but pack them into a product that is so much smaller. And that's what we did with the new iPad Mini".

A comically colourful statement full of meaningless truisms and self-praise that can be summed up with:

"We made a smaller iPad".

Only complaint about the iPad mini video is how they completely murdered one of my favourite songs (Age of Consent by New Order).

lmao!

"We went back to the drawing board and thought, what would it smell like if we added jalapeño? What texture would result by adding corn? Would consistency improve with adding dairy, or would that require being added sparingly?"

The piano ad is pure genius. Simple, elegant and captivating. Apple advertising at it's very best.

What a disappointing keynote. New innovation was missing. Apple simply recycled existing products. No wonder their stock dropped 20 points after the keynote. More to come...

Apple is the master of product announcements!!!

One thing that we can complement Apple for, is the timing on most product launches.

Currently, its Halloween and festive season is next up. Hence, do not need any rocket science to predict that it will do well.....;)

Enough commenting for today... I better do some buying now..:D
