Apple has now posted its feature video for the iPhone 4, entitled "This changes everything. Again." The video was shown at the conclusion of Steve Jobs' WWDC keynote presentation today.

The video is similar in theme to one shown at the end of Apple's January media event held to introduce the iPad, showing off the features within the context of the user experience and offering sound bites from Apple executives discussing the new product.

They make it sound like video calling were a revolutionary idea they came up with, when in reality they are about 5 years behind and you cant even call people who don't have an iphone, never mind the fact that i need to be on connected to wifi...

These dopes work at Apple. They've never seen iChat before? What a joke. Hey everyone, Apple just invented wifi video chatting! Come see this! Everyone with an EVO doing wifi and 3g/4G right now just laughed their asses off at Apple.

Damn, and i was gonna say "in before anyone complains about the phone"....

I'd say give it time before you can make Skype and ooVoo calls utilizing the cameras..

In reality, they're bringing it to the rest of the world. As they often do. Well.

And the WiFi only thing is a carrier issue, ace.

In reality it's the rest of the world that has had mobile video call for 5 years. It's the US that is lagging behind.

No it isn't, "ACE". Jailbreak your phone and you can video chat over ATT. Not a carrier issue at all. It's an Apple issue. And is it a carrier issue that limits this stupid thing to iPhone to iPhone only? Take off the fanboy hat.

except the world =/= iphone 4

If they add the ability for a desktop client under OSX/windows, then that will be good.

Most definitely not as successfully implemented. "...to the rest of the world", no?

It's the US that is lagging behind.

Agreed.

The issue is that AT&T won't allow it through normal channels. They are the carrier, yes?

Looks like the whole "iChat" thing all over again. Shame that 95% of the Internet population that you may want to call don't have iChat or an iPhone 4. If Apple really are into open standards then they need to try a bit harder.

You can, but no one did!

That is the point. Despite Skype, how many people do you see video-chatting over their cellphones? I promise you that number is gonna increase substantially in 1 year.

The reason is that it was a pain in the *ss. Just like browsing the internet on the phone before. There were many phones which had browsers (Blackberries, Nokias, Samsungs, LGs) but no one used them because they were pathetic and the carriers provided you with terrible plans.

In comes the iPhone, and within a week it forms pretty much 90% of mobile browsing in the US.

Apple is revolutionary because they don't worry about adding features. They worry about making features usable.
