No, what's really creepy are people who own no Apple products, hate the company yet feel compelled to join Apple centric web sites so they can spew their vitriol on a daily basis. You know, people like you.

I own the following at the moment :

- iMac 2011 - 3.4Ghz i7, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD, 2GB 6970m (THE highest spec available when I bought in June this year)
- iPhone 5
- iPad 3

How do you like 'dem' Apples?

I have spent enough on Apple products to earn myself the right to an opinion. However, I am freethinking. I like a lot of the stuff Apple produce. I don't like the way they do business and I don't like the robots who are blinded to any criticism of Apple.

You strike me as someone blind to logic and reason.

If you had even looked at my sig you would have seen the iMac I own. I guess you were too busy frothing at the mouth.

lets take a look shall we:

MacBook Air:

Some Samsung Ultrabook:

But wait, it must be similar to all other laptop designs right?

They all look pretty similar to me.

----------

So many childish fan boys in this thread. It is astounding really...

Yep. Some people think that buying stuff from Apple is something to validate their lives with.

I just think it is buying stuff.

----------

I wonder what makes you think Samsung fanboys are posting here. Can't rational Apple fans not criticize Apple for their actions?

It would appear not.

I'm sorry....

Once upon a time, there was a boy who called his younger brother
"stupid". Upon hearing this, his mother demanded he apologize to his
younger sibling. Without skipping a beat, the boy obeyed, saying, "I'm
sorry you're stupid."

I think someone at Apple's Marketing department knows this story too...:)

Honestly Apple sounds like a little kid saying "oh yeah, well my dad is cooler than your dad so there" Really, all they needed to do was put the footnote there, no one will read it, no one will care.

Apple doesn't sound like a little kid but you sort of do. :)

I fail to see how Samsung products are not as cool as Apple products? Last time I checked a Note 10.1 or a Note 2 are really cool and innovative devices.

Gee, when was the last time you checked? Because I checked just now and those devices are derivative and totally uncool, haha. :)

In fact, the judge in this case so ruled. That's a finding of fact.
And that's not a fanboy, he's a professional impartial observer.

Didn't do court establish that Samsung did NOT copy the iPad?

No, the court ruled that Samsung did not copy the iPad in a way that infringed on Apple's design patents. Nobody has any doubt that Samsung copied.

----------

The company as a whole has changed and you can see has currently become extremely arrogant, I mean dropping Samsung to supply your components? When it has provided you with said powerful reliable components for years and none of Apple's customers have ever complained? That will rock the shares for one.

What, dropping a supplier how copies your designs, who has a 130 page book comparing their phone with an iPhone and noting what needs to be done to copy the iPhone, a supplier who threatened to take you to court for shipping an LTE phone and who has tried to block sales in some countries, that is now arrogant?

I would say

"strongly influenced their design language"

:p

copy implies they attemped to make their device 100% identical in look to me. I think it's clear that while Samsung did make it damn near similar it isn't a direct copy.

Hey, I'm not a samsung fan and Generally I detest the whole patent shenanigans that are going on. Many probably think of me here as "anti apple". I'm not.

And i can damn well understand that Samsung comes close at times to overstepping. There are absolutely design elements that Samsung has used that make the look similar to that of apple. I just don't believe Apple holds the exclusive rights to design elements that existed before, after, and by others. Such as square screen device with rounded corners. it's way too vague and just because someone else makes a square screen device with rounded corners, doesn't mean it's a direct copy.

1. I would argue that "nobody" is hyperbolic. You know not EVERYBODY believes Samsung copied.

2. All of the things you mention below (which some are debatable) don't negate the assertion that Apple as a company presents itself as arrogant. I'm not saying Apple is or is not. I'm stating that your list is irrelevant to the "charge"

This is neoliberalism: fast, high frequency commercial transactions, free competition. If you want to create a tablet market reserve - yes, this is what you are claiming -, you're doing the opposite of what USA tried to teach the entire world last century - be free, democratic, competitive, fast.

If you're american, I bet you are an Obama voter.

I just ordered 40k worth. Even if it drops like crazy, I will get back a lot by next earnings announcement :D
So yea, I'm a shareholder and I AM laughing ;)

I am thinking about buying about 75-80 shares of Apple if it drops down below $575 in the next week. I will be laughing then... well, after a couple months.

No it couldn't... It will come down a little more and then go up higher than ever again. This will happen several times over the next few years. This has been going on for a while now.

Yes.... because as everybody knows, historically there is no limit to how high some stocks go. The only real bubble in the stock market is the myth that bubbles exist - and that one bursted a long time ago... :D

But seriously, this notion that it will just keep going up, calls for caution.

... Wall St. plays this game all the time.

Exactly. The moment this notion of "it will never really go down" sets in among market outsiders and amateurs... BAM! something unforeseen happens that brings everybody back to reality. Or maybe the big stock holders decide they want to sell out and cash in, specially while Apple has this tendency to just accumulate cash and sit on it. History.

Perhaps the time for Apple shares as a long term investment has passed.

Cheers!

I remember when the majority of posters on MacRumors weren't anti-Apple trolls. Those were the days.

Someone being open minded about the failings of Apple doesn't make them a troll.

Apple don't give a monkey about their customers. They simply want to extract as much cash as possible from us.

The sooner people wake up, smell the coffee and realise that Apple are not "on their side" the better.

... and I remember when the majority of posters on MacRumors were objective users with an emphasis on helping, instead of superficial compulsive shoppers drunk with marketing cool-aid. I guess it all started with iOS and when OS X became mainstream, losing its prosumer edge.

This made my morning. What a brilliantly hilarious response from Apple.

Clever and witty because it actually looks like an ad from Apple while at the same time managing to have a not so sly dig at the Judge who ordered this modern day version of hanging a sign around ones neck.

Absolute classic.

And the court decision is supposed to be sided with Samsung by telling Samsung " you're not as cool!....therefore you could not have copied...,".
Nice. Really.
I just can't imagine Samsung is celebrating over this right now.

How funny....and sad.

The more I read this the more awesome it seems.

This is the best thing Apple has done since Steve Jobs died. I wonder who came up with this idea. This is what they need. Show pride in Apples work.

Apple and especially Google, is a prime example of over-inflated stocks.

I want to agree with this but I think if this were true eventually the price would come crashing (not a gradual devaluing) down. So I think this is something that can only be said in hindsight because if people are buying something at a price, isn't that what it's value is? Isn't that how a market works?

I'm sorry that you believe that. I think Apple (at least the people in charge) thinks more like I do: happy customers buy more products, which makes more money. Thinking that making more money is the means is absolutely nuts, because you can't make more money by making money. You make money by making your customers happy. You make customers happy by making products that they truly enjoy using and by taking good care of them if anything ever goes wrong. Apple has consistently done an incredible job at doing both of those things.
