This is just such a joke.
Yes it is.
A joke from Apple and Samsung for this silly trial.
A joke from the Judge for handing down suck an incorrect verdict.
A joke from the judge for handing Apple such a silly and pointless punishment.
A joke from a legal system that allows this sort of thing.

But hey it gives rumour website page hits. So what's a win right?

and interesting headline here...

I say interesting only because if the press keeps asserting that the iPad Mini is overcharged - and Apple has to keep explaining its pricing measures - who can really say how this plays into the minds of the consumer...

no? (TLDR following)
here's some things that have happened in the last few months that might negatively impact stock expectations and put hesitation in wall street investment. Remember, wall street is based on speculation, so the stock price represents what investors Believe is on the horizon for Apple.

off top of my head some stories about apple that have popped up in the last month.

That's a disgrace

Apple is not mocking Samsung, they are mocking GB's judicial system. They will probably hear from judge very soon. More importantly, this arrogance will inevitably lead to company's fall sooner or later.

The UK courts are not known for their sense of humour. This was not an apology at all and Apple are going to be in very serious trouble about this. Contempt of Court is a serious offence in the UK and can carry a lengthy prison sentence. Apple could find it's UK officials facing a court hearing over this statement. This is no laughing matter and Apple should take this seriously.

no idea. Apple didnt' do themsellves any favour during the iPad mini presentation. Going so far as to showcase your competition is something very unapple like. Apple in essence just told everyone "if you want, go buy the competition for 65% less, sure it might not be as good, but it's still 65% cheaper".

it was one fo the worst product releases I have ever seen Apple do

I disagree with the UK courts in that Samsung's whole stock changed to mirror image Apple's. If that's not copying, what is

Whether or not you or anyone else agrees or disagrees with the UK court's decision is not the issue. The issue is that we have a justice system, we have judges who preside over that and they deserve respect.

Apple has shown a total lack of respect for the UK court and our justice system. That is bang out of order and very arrogant.

You don't have to agree with the court but recognise that the court has the right to make their own decision.

Reminds me of a laptop. Here is one quite similar from 2000

Yes, it is silver as well. In 12 years they have got smaller - but the overall layout is the same.

Some of the blind fanboy devotion to Apple is just creepy.

No, what's really creepy are people who own no Apple products, hate the company yet feel compelled to join Apple centric web sites so they can spew their vitriol on a daily basis. You know, people like you.

So many childish fan boys in this thread. It is astounding really...

Also, anytime you have to talk about a competitor's product on your own website just creates awareness of said product. Like it or not this is essentially some free advertising for Samsung. On Apple's own website.

Any who, let's see how the courts react to this as many have already pointed out it seems they have deviated much from what the court said to put up. Could be troublesome for them.

No it couldn't... It will come down a little more and then go up higher than ever again. This will happen several times over the next few years. This has been going on for a while now.

Not to mention the entire market is dipping - has anyone seen GOOG lately? What the heck happened on Oct. 18th?

I wanna also point out - stories comparing Apple's "disappointing" financials with Amazon's are ridiculous and the writers of said articles are on crack.

In no way does an $8.6 BILLION profit = a $247 MILLION loss....don't care what the analysts predicted or who the companies are.

I did also notice a rather relentless pattern of defending samsung and attacking apple slightly out of kilter with an uninterested party.

Can you point where I have defended Samsung and attacked Apple? Thanks

Google/ samsung employee maybe ?

When you don't like some other posts you accuse him of being paid? Do you think that the ones defending Apple and attacking other companies are Apple employees?

The courts serve their own country's interests. This is fact, we shouldn't have any complaints about that. Even Nobel prizes and education rankings serve to political interests to the detriment of the meritocratic criteria. Nationalism in the neoliberal era is as alive as ever.

So, if in a hypothetical case, a court should make a decision that could lead to breaking a foreign company or breaking a national company - this is a pretty easy decision to make. I'm not blaming the courts, but this is a pretty obvious behaviour, we shouldn't put the courts in such a sacred, exempted, status.

I wonder if there are any other Apple forums left on the Web that aren't infested with Samsung fanboys.

I wonder what makes you think Samsung fanboys are posting here. Can't rational Apple fans not criticize Apple for their actions?

i wonder if there are any forums where people can have there own opinion? and not have to go with the herd mentality or be called fan boys of any company

i own apple products i own samsung products i own panasonic etc. I couldnt give a toss about the company as they couldnt give a toss about me. Its a business transaction nothing more. I get a product they get a profit. anyone who thinks any of these companies see them as anything more than a dollar sign is fooling themselves

This is rather childish and immature, and quite manipulative, but I guess Apple has the legal right to produce such statement.

This is excellent marketing. Samsung can't design with the grown ups, they can't make software with the grown ups, and they get their arse smacked by Apple. Copying the iPad was childish, and Samsung is paying.

----------

Last? This can lead Samsung claiming an entire-page retractation.

Apple will apologise. "We are really sorry that Samsung isn't as cool as Apple".

----------

The judge did not say Apple had to apologise; he said they must say that Samsung did not infringe and that the accompanying text did not have to advertise Samsung. He said that they also must provide a link to the judgement.

Slight correction: They must say that the judge ruled that Samsung did not infringe. Which is not exactly the same thing.

Laughable.

When it happens yes it will be. Apple will one day find itself infront of the European court or the American Presidents desk or maybe both, the arrogance it keeps portraying is inevitably going to lead it there. It will then be ordered to change and stop blocking competitors products through the courts and it's ridiculous patents.

The company as a whole has changed and you can see has currently become extremely arrogant, I mean dropping Samsung to supply your components? When it has provided you with said powerful reliable components for years and none of Apple's customers have ever complained? That will rock the shares for one.
