I can honestly say that I am not going to rush home to watch the video. I am not really sure I need to see the key notes.

Sorry, but nothing really wowed me ... The App Store announcements were a joke, just rehashed crap we already knew.

Mobile Me looks cool, I am sure I am going to use it ... but, nothing solid to show us.

3G iPhone. I was totally looking forward to this, I am very excited. But, besides 3G there is nothing you need to see that isn't listed in the specs.

I am feeling a little disappointed

What were you promised? Last year was pretty much the same as I recall - lots of stuff rehashed from a previous keynote (wwdc 06 in that case) and people moaned 'cos they wanted more. Of course a couple of months later we got the new iMacs - there's always next keynote!

I was just going to ask if he was auditioning for Steve's job. I notice what you're talking about, but far be it for me to knock anyone's public speaking ability. Lord knows he did better than i could.

Yeah, maybe I was a bit harsh.

I TOTALLY noticed that too. He looked INCREDIBLY thin. Not only in the face, but he looked very bony under his trademark black turtleneck.

Oh God...I hope he's ok. I know he battled cancer not too long ago....but he was looking ALOT better last time I saw him.

Apple needs Steve. Steve IS Apple.

Lets all send out good energy his way.

Get well Steve)if in fact he is sick).

Cheers

I don't think he'll make it for the next WWDC 2009 :(

No, it wasn't pretty much the same. Last year, there were Mac-related items in the keynote. This time, zilch. No Mac-related content in the keynote for WWDC. That's ridiculous. Even people like me who weren't expecting to be showered with new hardware and amazing things are disappointed.

Steve just served us a hamburger with no beef. That's disappointing regardless of your expectations.

Exactly. Last year, they just went into a bit more depth past 2006. The expectations are just tooo high this time around. It's a developers conference. Last year, we didn't see any new hardware announcements. Only 10 features in Leopard. That's it. We get App Store recaps, Mobile Me, and a 3G iPhone and you're still not satisfied? We're not getting a MWSF 07 every keynote...

It's a developers conference. They showcase technology that the developers would be interested in. Last year there was Mac related showings because OSX Leopard was just a few months away. Snow Leopard is not scheduled until next year, and there was still a little peak this year. In the coming weeks, the App Store is releasing, so it's only knowledgeable that Apple educate developers on that, as apposed to something for 09.

Slice it up any way you want but it's still the same. There are a significant number of people there to develop for the Mac, not the iPhone (I'm friends with one of them who is there right now.) To leave that out of a WWDC keynote is just inexcusable. Why not show off some of the tech underneath Snow Leopard and shorten the iPhone stuff? I don't understand how the Mac and OS X can be total no-shows at a WWDC keynote. It doesn't compute.

I actually found the keynote exciting and very emotionally moving, in a very sleepy, languid kinda way. You nerds are doing society a great service, and that's very moving to me. Nerds changing the world. Awesome!:)

People who want to develop for the Mac already have enough information through the current release of Leopard, and don't forget that there are many Apple engineers at WWDC to answer questions from developers. Bertrard(sp?) is also showcasing Snow Leopard, but there obviously isn't enough completed to feature it in the keynote. Plus, MacRumors said that there is more undisclosed information, so expect Apple to have more announcements this week.

i think people are missing the detail on how the app store will revolutionary change the model on how apps are distributed/sold to users, although announced previously we are at the threshold of a major new breakthrough.

This may sound like a dumb request... but can I actually download the Keynote video without streaming it?

Would be nice to put it on iPod and watch it while going home from work tonight...

New Cinema Displays?

I don't usually look for stuff like this, but it looks like Steve was using a previously unseen display during the keynote. That or it was a weird Samsung, but why would Apple use someone else's screens?

Isn't that the iMac? It's what Scott Forstall was using when he was showcasing the iPhone 2.0 development software.

Do you have a full-resolution screen shot?

Does anyone have a video of the Snow Leopard preview?

Hey, is that a new shirt Steve has on? My bad. He's just dropped a few pounds.

I'm pretty sure that's an iMac...

*Sigh*

Why don't Apple release torrents, web streams *never* work. Just provide a direct download or a torrent or something. Trying to access that stream from Australia is just laughable.

I can't believe in 2008 a big name company like Apple is still getting something as simple as web video so horribly horribly wrong. Torrents thrive on massively hyped releases, get with it Apple.

WTF is Steve Jobs sick?? He lost like 20 lbs since MacWorld...

I hope not. ;-) I did notice that he looked drawn though too.

As someone who's mom had pancreatic cancer, albeit not the kind Steve had which is usually quite treatable, I worry about him.

On a "review of the announcements note," as a long time Apple user (Apple ][, 128K Mac up to now) and developer I was somewhat underwhelmed by today. Yes, the iPhone is great and will do well and has a lot of great features, but for the first time in memory, I just wasn't wowed by anything today. Just my emotional response though.
