That, and performance improvements for any desktops or laptops with a limited supply of RAM, and better management of background apps. Plus, a lower power bill because of the power savings, so it could potentially even have a use on desktops. I honestly see no reason to not get it. For those worried about bugs, wait for 10.9.1. I wouldn't wait any longer than that though, as Mavericks is already extremely stable, and free.
It depends on what you mean with "productive-wise".
I need none of the features touted in Mavericks, so I'm happily chugging along with ML.
Just 'cause it's "free" does not mean you should upgrade now.![]()
I haven't gone over to Mavericks yet. Am I missing anything productive wise?
ML was laggy on my Retina MBP - so I had nothing to loose - and Mavericks is great (not perfect but a billion times better than ML and a trillion time better than Lion - even better than SL performance wise!)
So I am happy I upgraded- so you could say my productively has increased because I don't have to wait for text to finish typing after I typed it, or for pages to finish scrolling way after I scrolled it

Safari is perfect for me. No problems and always getting better.
Safari uses A LOT of RAM. More than it ever has in the past. At least for me. Hopefully this fixes it.
How can you tell, now that the "safari web content" is broken out in the Activity monitor, it's hard to tell (since each window seems to have it's own process). Is there a way to mush that data together?

Hoping for the Mail issue to be fixed where my Inboxes on the Mac are synced days behind my actual Inboxes from Google. Rarely will it sync up and push the correct mail after updating to 10.9.
they appear to have removed the option to search bookmarks...
With safari open I have 28MB RAM free. With safari closed and using Chrome instead, I have 1.33GB RAM free. How can you tell, now that the "safari web content" is broken out in the Activity monitor, it's hard to tell (since each window seems to have it's own process). I'm preparing to ignore Mavericks until all the bugs are worked out.

Alas, YMMV
since upgrading to Mavericks on my out of warranty 2010 iMac I've experienced: a nasty sleep/wake failure/restart, beach balls up the wazoo and memory bleeds. This thing runs worse than SL without the 12gb RAM update. And it's slow as hell, which is strange considering most of my internal drive is free (try 459 from 499 gb) and the 12gb of RAM.
I hope there are fixes soon as I'd like this iMac to last another 6-12 months, but if this keeps happening I can't see this being good for my machine.
