Thank goodness, because Mavericks Mail sucks a lot - delaying in updating unread count across multiple mailboxes, vanishing mail, problems moving mail to different folders.

Same for iOS 7 mail - hopefully that gets a fix soon too.

I look forward to when this will be a reality

That, and performance improvements for any desktops or laptops with a limited supply of RAM, and better management of background apps. Plus, a lower power bill because of the power savings, so it could potentially even have a use on desktops. I honestly see no reason to not get it. For those worried about bugs, wait for 10.9.1. I wouldn't wait any longer than that though, as Mavericks is already extremely stable, and free.

Alas, YMMV

since upgrading to Mavericks on my out of warranty 2010 iMac I've experienced: a nasty sleep/wake failure/restart, beach balls up the wazoo and memory bleeds. This thing runs worse than SL without the 12gb RAM update. And it's slow as hell, which is strange considering most of my internal drive is free (try 459 from 499 gb) and the 12gb of RAM.

I hope there are fixes soon as I'd like this iMac to last another 6-12 months, but if this keeps happening I can't see this being good for my machine.

It depends on what you mean with "productive-wise".

I need none of the features touted in Mavericks, so I'm happily chugging along with ML.

Just 'cause it's "free" does not mean you should upgrade now.:D

ML was laggy on my Retina MBP - so I had nothing to loose - and Mavericks is great (not perfect but a billion times better than ML and a trillion time better than Lion - even better than SL performance wise!)

So I am happy I upgraded :) - so you could say my productively has increased because I don't have to wait for text to finish typing after I typed it, or for pages to finish scrolling way after I scrolled it :p

I haven't gone over to Mavericks yet. Am I missing anything productive wise?

Keychain syncing (which I really wanted back!). The new iMovie. I think Safari is MUCH slower and they appear to have removed the option to search bookmarks...

The memory management is kind of interesting.

I'm sure there is a million other things...

Fixes to iBook welcome, but fix the damn Finder

This has to be the worst release yet for Finder usability. I have file multiple bugs regarding Finder. It hangs when you start sorting images into folders and its scrolling behavior for multiple windows in the same directory is bizarre. Nevermind, AppleScripts that change view options don't seem to update until you navigate away from and then back to a folder.

Fixing Pages so that hyperlinks in exported PDF documents work would be neat

:(

Maybe your issues went away because of the new install? ML is anything but laggy on my 2011 17" MBP, where Mavericks just broke too many things I use..

I can't sync any of my pdf's to my iPad. They just don't appear in iTunes when I'm connected to the iPad. Hope they fix this.

Oh and, can they fix Notes, it's fugly. :)

Safari is perfect for me. No problems and always getting better.

Good for you. Safari will only be perfect when it cross platform compatible. Many people out there uses combinations of PC, iOS devices, Mac, Android or others. Chrome is still king of cross platform compatible and I am using chrome as my main browser.

Safari uses A LOT of RAM. More than it ever has in the past. At least for me. Hopefully this fixes it.

How can you tell, now that the "safari web content" is broken out in the Activity monitor, it's hard to tell (since each window seems to have it's own process). Is there a way to mush that data together?

Hoping for the Mail issue to be fixed where my Inboxes on the Mac are synced days behind my actual Inboxes from Google. Rarely will it sync up and push the correct mail after updating to 10.9.

My mail seems synced up but it keeps alerting me to "20 new messages" and then "50" and then some more, but there hasn't been anything new. I've let it run for days and it keeps giving me these messages...

I'm not even sure which of my accounts it's referring to, but I've got all of them except gmail marked as offline (but I even synced them up to make sure).

With safari open I have 28MB RAM free. With safari closed and using Chrome instead, I have 1.33GB RAM free.

Mavericks handles Adobe Flash content in Safari much better than previous versions of OSX.

Before upgrading, the fan on my MacBook would soar to its top speed within a couple of minutes of launching a Flash-based video. With Mavericks, the fan is much quieter when playing Flash content. I can finally hear the audio clearly over the fan!

There are a few productivity applications that might not yet work with Mavericks flawlessly, for example my sister is an artist and uses ArtRage Studio a lot, and the dev team had to roll out an update because the program did crazy things under Mavericks. She is now working on a project and she was kind of frightened, but fortunately the ArtRage team provided an update in no time. But well, that depends on the very application you use.

Others report about problems with external drives using exFat filesystem (not just western digital, but any drives), actually I also experienced that, one of my exFat external drives simply won't mount under Mavericks. So I would say, if it is critical for you that you have a rock solid enviroment, I suggest that you wait until at least 10.9.1 is rolled out. But besides these temporarily flaws (which sometimes aren't even the fault of Apple but the program developers), I think Mavericks is going to be simply the best OSX yet in every terms. Period. .-)

new a new design for Mail

I think they should redesign Mail app, it kinda looks old and so many folders that u getting confused sometime which one is it... Kinds Hate Junk folder, and Spam folder is hidden somewhere else(((

Have you considered the possibility that maybe something you have installed on your system is causing the issue you are having that maybe incompatible with 10.9? Have you looked at the activity monitor to see what could be taking up the processing time?
