I wish they would hurry up

My emails are a mess. Dozens of iterations in my Trash and Archive which also appear in my searches, blank emails, difficult to see if an item has been sent as it appears to be sitting in Drafts, etc and so on.

You've been told wrong, this simply is NOT true.

I should know, I only USB sync my idevices with iTunes.

Actually I'm delighted to hear this....:) So let me be certain of what you're saying. You have Mavericks and the latest update to iTunes and you're still able to USB sync from iTunes?

.

I'd sure never do it a week after the release, that's for hobbyists.

Yep, well I've learned a lesson: Mail is awful for me... force quitting around 20 times a day.
1. Constantly syncing my IMAP accounts, to the point where Mail crashes when I try filing to iCloud folders (admittedly Ive got around 15GB of email - but was never an issue before)
2. Lags on calling my address book email addresses, spins for a while calling common people, that were instant before in ML.
3. Seem to have lost my 'previous sent email addresses' data.. don't care too much.. but it's very surprising that the usual aren't popping up

Yes, absolutely. Just USB sync'd last night, in fact.

I can't imagine Apple taking this feature away. At all.

Maybe your issues went away because of the new install? ML is anything but laggy on my 2011 17" MBP, where Mavericks just broke too many things I use..

Nope upgrade - well it won’t be laggy on your 2011 MBP, just as it wasn’t on my old 2010 MBP - It was laggy on retina (at least mine)

thanks again Taz

If the issue still persists I would suggest that you create a new partition on your HD and clean install Mavericks and see if the problem still happens. You can always remove the partition after.

After several tries and other new issues, I did this early this morning. Hopefully it will be stable from here on out. At any rate, many thanks. Glad I risked it, whatever happens will happen.
