The RED iPod nano appeared on the edu page about the time the store went back up after MWSF here. You couldn't click on it and it was gone about an hour later.

Didn't report it, just thought someone stuffed up.

Bloody Kiwis get it though...

Well at least we beat them at pretty much any sporting event ;)

That is a weird one...why none for Australia? Did the ATO not allow them to claim that $10 as a donation or soemthing?

Don't think the charity is registered here. I thought Bono was going to do it whilst U2 were touring but it didn't happen.

Well, it must have a very big picture.... why else would the store be down THIS long.

C'mon Apple, let us in to see the goodies - yet I find myself braced for a big dissapointment!

That'd be right....the update takes about a minute, then they just sit around for a while letting people stew on it for a while. I guess its how you build up a bit of free hype without actually doing anything at all!....and that seems to work.

I had to get my mum to buy it in Hong Kong, and literally a few days after it arrived the 8GB model was released. Luckily I was able to send back the 4GB version and pay a little more for the bigger model.

mmmh, for people not familiar with apple's tuesday update regime,
leaving the apple store down might hurt some sales

Open up Dashboard and bring up the World Clock widget...

or... turn on your iPod and go to the Extras menu...

I would but I am at work and on a windows based monstrosity. I am emailing my mac just now to say hello so she does not get jealous. I keep telling her really there is nothing to get jealous of but you know what they are like.

For what is worth, I'm expecting iLife and iWork with Numbers. Maybe new iSights as well, possibly also at the reduced $79 price mark. I'd be very happy with that.

The thing is if they are releasing a new iLife then product pages for iLife will obviously need to be changed as well as the details on every single piece of Apple Hardware that comes bundled with it.
