For me personally, it was the lack of a Pro mini. I want the 3 lenses and the other Pro trimmings.
A Pro mini would never happen.By the time they had fitted a 3 lens Pro camera and added the 120hz display into it there would be hardly any room left for a decent sized battery in the device. The battery life would be absolutely horrible, unacceptable for a Pro device.

Bring back the 27" iMac already. Chin and bezels and all but with modern internals.

A 32" iMac is bordering on too big, plus I'd guess it'd tip the scales at over $8000.
A 32” iMac would fit inside the same dimensions as the old 27”. If you want the old 27” iMac body “chin and bezels and all” then it’s not bordering on too big anymore than the old one was…

If an external battery is fine for the Vision Pro, why not for an iPhone Pro? ;)

If it’s 32” then Apple would need a 6k panel for true Retina resolution. Those are still fairly niche and pricy (Dell’s model starts at $2600 which is a discount from the original $3200 MSRP). Obviously Apple could source these OEM panels for at least half that, but that’s still a huge chunk of component costs to be eaten up by just the display. $4000 seems like a realistic MSRP minimum for a 32” 6K iMac.
And that's exactly the reason to buy it. Apple already made a 4K iMac and makes a 4.5K iMac now. 6K at 32-inch is this amazing resolution nobody else makes. 20 million pixels in an All-in-One form factor will be so good. The panel will never come down in price unless Apple sells millions of them. If you see it, you will want one for yourself.

It’s called a MagSafe battery. Or any external battery to charge devices. I have one that doubles as a car-jumper in my emergency roadside kit.

Honestly it feels strange that AirTag won’t adopt the more useful and precise chip until 2 years after its introduction…

Larger iPad coming?

And an iPad Nano the size of a Nexus 7. 👌

The only thing I really want from Apple right now is an OLED iPad Mini and that sure ain't happening.

My pocketbook is gonna spend this year recuperating from the M3 Pro Max

It's been a while since we heard a rumor of the next Mac display (XDR Pro II or Studio Display II). What is taking them so long?

Especially the XDR Pro II is getting long in the tooth....Thunderbolt 3, etc. Would be great to get an update soon (Thunderbolt 5 support for 120Hz 6k?)

That's not happening until Thunderbolt 5 Macs are released, so you'll be waiting for the M4 generation at least.

A 32" screen is too big for the old 27" case by at least 1.5 inches (~38mm) diagonal. You're welcome to measure it yourself.

Beyond the case, a 32" screen really is pushing beyond a bigger iMac's "prosumer" market, esp. at the ultra premium ($8000+) it'd command.

Maybe I’m missing something but why would you need a Vision Pro to unlock more precise AirTag finding? Isn’t that down to the Ultra Wideband chip inside? I can track my AirTags just fine with my iPhone 15 Pro Max, although more precision would certainly be appreciated.

Sadly we probably won't get a small pocketable 4 inch 5/5S style iPhone either.
Even if millions of people worldwide really misses and wants it.
I actually want the exact opposite, which is a much larger screen, closer to that of an iPad mini.

Consumers have spoken and the billions want bigger phones! And you can’t really blame them, as bigger phones have better value per inch.

Well very sad news regarding the SE 4 release date i was expecting it this year, my SE 2 battery can barely handle it and i really believe buying an SE 3 at this point would be wasting money.

Can’t you swap the battery? Cheaper than buying a new phone
Thanks for your reply but i'm outside the states, each time i go to an apple store equivalent here they want me to buy a brand new device, i'm tired of that.

I guess i'm gonna wait for the iphone 16 buy it and make my current iphone 13 my SE4 that will work for me during night times.

Everyone in MR: “Give us an iMac Pro!”

Apple: “Here you go, minimum specs start at $6000. Place your orders now.”

Everyone in MR: slowly backing away.
Correction:
Everyone in MR: complaining about Apple greed and how Steve Jobs would have never done it that way

Except it isn't that simple. They didn't necessarily want the 12 or 13 mini because of the screen size. They didn't want it because they prioritized battery life and/or pro features like Promotion or Camera's more and frankly the mini's were not a great value unless you specifically wanted the smaller screen. I would gladly pay even more for a smaller screen option, but I know I'm in the minority.

As your number one priority:
  • If you wanted the best battery life - you don't get a mini
  • If you want the best screen/refresh - you don't get a mini
  • If you want the best camera's - you don't get a mini
  • If you want the best materials - you don't get a mini
  • If you want the best most affordable - you don't get a mini
Good post. I have the 13 Mini because of the size but I have to say the battery life is terrible. I switched from the 11 because it hurt my hand due to the size. I love everything about the mini except the battery life. The camera etc. is fine for my needs so that doesn’t bother me. The battery is terrible even with the optimisations I’m running like low brightness and switch off ads. Even still I have to charge it again before the end of the day.

Not going to buy a folding iPhone or MacBook. Ever. I'm not in love with touchscreens in general, but making that the only way of input on a computer really turns me off.

Strange, my 13 mini´s battery life is astonishingly good and brings me well across the day (8am to 10pm usually, with lots of mailing, texting, taking photos etc.). Have you checked what your remaining battery capacity info reads?
