Hardness usually comes with brittleness. When you want to make something more drop resistant, you want it to be capable of being able to absorb more impact before cracking. That means you don’t want it to be more brittle. From what I can see from drop tests it performs a lot better than the glass on the 11, especially the screen side glass.Ceramic Shield is not different from other iPhones when it comes to scratch resistance.
My iPhone 12 Mini is full of micro scratches and no different from my previous phones.
iPhones (even 12 series) aren't waterproof and they may or may not leak when they get wet. There is ZERO guarantee that it won't leak and if it does, Apl won't warranty any moisture damage.
So since they sometimes do get water damage when subjugated to small amounts of water and its a crap shoot whether yours will too, the only reasonable conclusion is.... DONT GET YOUR IPHONE WET. It's not water resistant.
As far as I know, ceramic shield is only for the screen, not the glass on the back of the phone. Can we confirm?
Anecdotal.Sister in law dropped the i 12 and the thing landed dead. I was LOL while i still have my 11 Pro that i drop all the time. Clearly the quality has gone down the rails.
It's a well-made ad. It projects an impression of an indestructible phone, yet if you break it down in fact they didn't show it survive anything out of the ordinary. Not even a drop from waist-height or anything like that. Basically any phone can survive what they've shown in the ad.
Apple products are generally good - sometimes truly great, sometimes not so much. But their marketing is consistently second to none.
Adamantium feather.With a feather?
Let’s see them wash the flower out the lightning port.![]()
So did I, which means exaggerate everything.I work in advertising![]()
That’s true. Ceramic Shield only applies to the screen, not the glass back.As far as I know, ceramic shield is only for the screen, not the glass on the back of the phone. Can we confirm?
The unfortunate side effect of coating the screen with an easily-scratchable oleophobic coating.Ceramic Shield is not different from other iPhones when it comes to scratch resistance.

If the pandemic proves anything is that the iPhone is the not the solution to life’s problems. But people sure are buying the latest version. The amount of kids I see walking around with one is astounding!
Notice how the sound effect was an egg cracking? That's because he threw an egg above his head.Notice when he threw it above his head there was a sound effect to suggest it landed in something soft...
Clearly logical fallacy posts aren't logical.Sister in law dropped the i 12 and the thing landed dead. I was LOL while i still have my 11 Pro that i drop all the time. Clearly the quality has gone down the rails.
Well, when I say children, I am not talking like 10 or 12 year olds, but more likely seniors in high school. Obviously these are not people with 9 to 5 jobs. So, it must be somebody's money that's buying it and usually its the Pro Max in Pacific Blue or Gold I see. It's probably the flat side design that has something to do with it, we have had the curved side's since iPhone 6, people were looking for a change. More children having phones, well that's parenting for you caving under pressure or just indulging some neurotic concern.

Some Emeril Lagasse showmanship occurring in this ad, just missing the signature "BAM" at the end of it all. 😂Notice how the sound effect was an egg cracking? That's because he threw an egg above his head.

I’ve dropped my iPhone 12 with no case on tile several times. After the sixth time, it finally cracked. Apple replaced the screen, but broke something during calibration. They replaced the phone.
