Is anyone surprised she looks awkward smiling. Seeing her walk around with Steve acting like a goblin. PR people can be an interesting bunch.

It's interesting to see how many MR posters are only able to see a female as an object. It was inevitable that there would quickly be comments about her looks. I guess computer nerds have so little interaction with real women that they don't understand that they have actual talents and abilities and don't just exist to give you a turn on.

Geez, way to jump in with the sexism card there. This is a horrible photo - it's looks like an attempt to smile while grimacing. There's nothing sexist about this, nothing objectifying women as far as I can tell, it's just a poor photo. If Tim Cook were pulling that face, we'd be saying the same.

If it was a male with such an awkward smile in their headshot i'm sure people would comment on it as well, I know I would. People weren't commenting on her looks, they were commenting on her expression.

Maybe that is your bias - the comments I am reading refer to a poor PR photo - regardless of gender. Do you remember all the comments about Carl Ichan's poor photo ????

You mean the one where he looks like his IQ is about 46? Yep I remember that. Her pose in this is about the same as Tim Cook's official photo. His smile also looks a little forced.

Apparently, you haven't been on the site much recently. Go take a look at any story about Angela and then come back and tell me that.

I guess a generational change is going on at Apple, old guard retiring to enjoy their wealth whilst the younger apprentices take over.

Really? She's pretty.

Also, gz on being sexist :)

How is that sexist? It's a poor shot, pure and simple.

Who said anything about her looks or about her gender. Only people like you. It's a poor shot of a person. No one brought gender into it until you piped in.

btw my wife is very successful and her head shot is perfect. Why? because I took it.

I am a woman and I also think she has a bad photo here. There's zero smile in her eyes, has nothing to do with her looks in general. Just that she doesn't look happy in that photo whatsoever. But hey, way to jump to conclusions about a bunch of people on here. It would be sexist NOT to point that out because we would be giving her special treatment as if she was too weak to take the criticism.

To be fair, I haven't read through many comment threads recently, but going to another thread to read sexist comments won't make anything that was said before your post magically appear sexist. If anything, you just gave a reason why you had an itchy trigger finger.

I don't think that's the case. I think you usually don't get to see women typically in the higher up roles (lets not go why or why not that is the case, different discussion). I'm glad to see women in successful roles. But for whatever reason, they always seem to be quite attractive, unlike their male counterparts... minus Ives, he's a good looking guy. This gal, Mayer, and even Ahrendt's (yes a little on the older side) are all pretty looking ladies. The other thing to is this is a tech forum, the field of tech is majority men, so when the majority of people on this site are men, your bound to hear more comments about attractiveness of women. I have yet to hear any degrading comments. What's wrong with a compliment? Is that too sexist for you? Do you want me to point out flaws or just be quite and say nothing?

I'd honestly like to know the percentages of male/female on this or similar sites.

Edit: By the way thanks for stereotyping us all as "nerds", if I was PC I'd probably be offended. Don't throw stones in glass houses.

Are you sure it is because of nerds and not biology?

To work this long in that role under these executives... she must be a rockstar. Not a person to be messed with.

Perhaps you need a lesson in reading comprehension. My post said some and you respond with all. If something does't apply to you then ignore it.

It's a trend at Apple...

Give this thread some time. Even with people now alerted to the issue, there will be plenty of inappropriate gender comments.
