In a word: Pathetic

Apple is so full of themselves, they have lost touch with reality. The degree of neglect they're practicing is nothing short of stunning. Slowly but surely they are destroying all the good they've created.

Luckily, Steve Jobs left the company with a vast army devotees, excuse makers and blind followers.

Another day, another major Apple QA concern. Depressing. But at least Supply Chain Slinging Tim's being wooed by India while placating the Chinese with a billion dollar investment! Rose colored watch bands anyone?

And you consider offering three different sizes for phones and iPads is spreading things too thin?
With Apple these days, apparently.

My MacBook Airs & Pro's ranged from $1649 to over $2600. I could have bought some very fancy PC's for 50% less than that...I'm not about to but I had to correct your reply.

If those half off computers are spec comparable, Apple needs to rethink their prices.

Amid a growing number of complaints over iOS 9.3.2 bricking some 9.7-inch iPad Pro models, Apple yesterday pulled the iOS 9.3.2 update. 9.7-inch iPad Pro users who have not installed iOS 9.3.2 no longer see the update, with iOS 9.3.1 now listed as the most current version of iOS 9 available for download.

Shortly after iOS 9.3.2 was released, MacRumors began receiving reports that the update was causing an "Error 56" message on some 9.7-inch iPad Pro devices. Not all iPad Pro users were affected, but those who were saw their devices rendered unusable. The error message instructed users to plug their devices into iTunes to restore, but restoring did not fix the problem, leaving the iPad Pros bricked.

Since then, MacRumors has heard several reports suggesting Apple is replacing iPad Pros bricked by the update, with no other simpler fix readily available. Users who are affected should contact Apple Support for assistance.

Apple has said it is looking into the issue, but did not offer details on what was causing the problem. The iOS 9.3.2 update will remain unavailable on the iPad Pro until a fix is found.

Update: Apple told iMore it is working on a fix and plans to issue an update soon.

It's not about the phones being affected, it's about the users being affected. The phones were all the same (at least the GSM (aka AT&T) versions, the Verizon versions were slightly different), it's the way people held their phones (from hand and finger size and dexterity to personal holding preferences) plus their skin conductivity, plus probably the weather (humidity, temperature) and how good the cell network was in their locations.

I never noticed any particular differences between the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 or iPhone 5 but I chalk this down to the way I happened to hold my phones.

Define 'crappy'. How many incidences of bricking does it need for you to define testing as crappy? And what meaning would that term actually have if almost every manufacturer were affected?

Maybe I didn't pay close enough attention years ago, but I don't recall any specific incident where a bunch of iPads were bricked from a firmware update. Now, I'm not sure if it's a few dozen or hundred iPad Pros affected, hopefully not thousands. The point is something's wrong at Apple and while it may be premature to criticize Apple without knowing the facts, I think it's reasonable to question Apple's current ability to maintain a high standard when it comes to software quality.

Genius showed how to delete downloaded-but-not-installed 9.3.2
My iPad Pro 9.7 had already automatically downloaded the bad 9.3.2 but fortunately I Had not installed it despite many reminders to do so.

Now I needed to remove this bad update and wait for its replacement coming in next few days.

To remove the genius said to go to SETTINGS>GENERAL>STORAGE & ICLOUD USAGE>STORAGE>MANAGE STORAGE

Then scroll down through the long list of apps till you see "9.3.2". Click on it and choose the DELETE option

When the replacement 9.3.2 or whatever it is called is available you can download it then.

Thank goodness for Apple geniuses - this one at the Hornsby, NSW Australia store.

During an Apple Quality Control call, "We've had such terrible loss of iPad, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it." Many consumers feel this was a term widely used in the demolition industry. A good indication that Apple knew what was coming next...

Yes indeed. A genius dies and is replaced by an unimaginative beancounter businessman. Now my favourite writer's app, Scrivener, is on Windows. I'm thinking WTF am I doing still using Crapple products.
As in that genius is the one that personal picks that replacement?

I thought one of the reasons you pay such a high price for Apple products is that the updates are seamless due to Apple building the hardware and software etc. Now Apple has its own Fragmentation due to some many different types of its devices its causing chaos.

The walled garden coming back to bite the Apple over and over again.
This is why we should have the ability to downgrade to any iOS version the hardware at hand supports.
Apple's policy of one-way upgrades stinks and is becoming embarrassing every time they have to retract a release.

Hmm, I don't appreciate we are kind of kept in the dark. Passing notes to iMore.com on the status is not good enough. Even Apple's support on twitter @AppleSupport was happily suggesting and advising users with iPad Pro they should upgrade, that's after users inquiring they are worried about potential errors. This is the first time I am disappointed with how Apple is handling this, come on, they can do better. I hope they come around.

Now make sure that you only compliment Apple on this error, otherwise you're branded as an Android-loving anti-Apple forum troll. No disappointment allowed with the recurring updates straight from the manufacturer that bricks people's stock iPads.
Dude...if you're a real "Apple fanboy", you need to criticize Apple even more than the Everyman. It's the only way to hold Apple to any kind of standard. Endless praise will only let them slip and become a crappy 90's era Apple and we know how that went.

I love Apple and am a total fanboy but my god man. These updates are ridiculous and these issues shouldn't be happening. They deserve all the flack they get.

i charge my 5s twice a day now and i have major no signal problems. Already ordered Xiaomi Mi5, time to go back to green garbage. Even Lagdroid nowdays is more stable.
