I don't understand how Apple can miss such a thing. I mean this is terrible.

Software is complex. Very very complex. Even a small batch of iPads manufactured in an ever-so-slightly different way (eg. cellular vs non-cellular) can introduce variables that were not caught during testing, but are caught in the real world.

How this passed public beta testing is a mystery, though.

Bro this is why many people prefer to wait until the .1 release yo. Sh*t happens yo. Perfection is a goal to aim for, not a state of being yo.
Doesn’t matter the version. 18.1 could introduce itself an issue. Software Updates always entail a certain risk.

Isn't the iPad Pro the FIRST and ONLY existing Apple device with the Apple M4?
There are not yet any other released Apple M4 devices. A PRO device is getting bricked.

Apple is unable to release a stable OS for their newest iPad PRO.
Doesn't make sense at all. Something is terribly wrong at Apple.

The nature of the problem wasn't defined. Some were indeed successful, some people experienced the issue where they had to bring it to a store for exchange until the recovery or force boot was achieved. I don't see a reason why some had to update to 17.7 first then 18.0? Thats weird.

So I think this is now causing an issue. My ipad can't get 18 and now I can't send messages with pics to people with droids.

Anyone know a fix for that? I'm sure it has to do with the messaging change on my phone but I don't know how to fix it.

I installed the moment it was released, didn’t brick thankfully. But I think you will all be happier waiting for 18.1, 18.0 is not as polished as 17.6/7. For instance, if I am using the Google Sheets app, half the time when I switch away and back to it, it takes me back to the sheets home. I’ve tried rebooting, only having a couple of apps open, it still does it. Maybe it’s Apple’s way of trying to get me to buy the 1TB version with the additional RAM.
