Creepy watches ...
When are the new MBPs coming ???!!
Just curious, what qualities must a watch have to be "creepy"? Does clicking on an Apple Watch article to ask when a new MBP will come, make it come any faster? I'm so tired of reading the same comment on every article getting 60 likes. Apple will release new macs when they are ready. Whining about it in an online forum does nothing

Thank you for saying this. I looked every day for the past week or two for an article with this info, then I saw all of these irrelevant comments, and I came into the forum topic to find someone saying this. All of the top comments about this are just MBP related. The only thing they have to do with the article is the useless mention of MBPs in the last few sentences that gave people another reason to reply with drivel.

Look, my still current MBP that I bought a year ago is still awesome. And for the bigger work, my hackintosh is great. I spend 90% of my life in 2D and 3D animation applications. If you need more power than I do, you shouldn't even be buying a laptop. And it's not like you're going to see huge gains, but I get it. Who wants to buy old tech? But what good does being an annoyance on the forum do? I'd like them to release new Macs too instead of stagnating. But be patient. At least Cook said "stay tuned." Steve would've told you where you could find your MBPs and I bet the directions would be simple—up somewhere and around the corner.

Back on topic. I can't wait to get mine. It's been a while without even having a date after already being charged. And as for the "inferior aluminum" comments I've seen...maybe, just maybe, there are people out there that like these bands and don't want to pay a premium for a slightly more durable material that will still scratch—especially if you're just going to buy Apple Care and could get it fixed for a flat rate anyway. And honestly I also like the look of anodized aluminum much more.

And only with baby watch bands... What man can wear max 210mm watchbands? Even my small wrists are 225mm. All normal watchbands are around 260mm. Apple lost a planned buy here because of this stupid decision.

the average wrist size for an average height male in your neck of the woods is 180mm. yours are fairly fat.

There is no fat at my wrists:

Oh I thought it was some exclusive thing. So it's just on the app store?

I keep hearing that there's other "software integrations" exclusive to the Nike edition. For example, if you start a run, it defaults to using the Nike app rather than the default Apple app. Not sure if this behaviour can be changed though. And not sure if all this is true.

And if there's really such deep integration, I wonder if the Nike edition allows you to delete the Nike app at all. For me though, I use the Nike running app a lot, so it works well for me.

Sorry man, I don't know what to tell you but I was about 50 lbs overweight (now maybe 20-30) and my wrists and fingers don't look like that. I'm 5'10" and have relatively large hands for my height. What size MBP is that? This is the 15" in my photo.

My wrist is 7 1/8" or about 181 mm.

A 13" mbp.

I have to live in an area inhabited by titans then ;) Even my sister has bigger wrists then me.

Wow! Well you've got some titanly fingers and a bigger wrist than me, although comparing with the laptops my fingers are probably longer.

If it makes you feel better, my friend's dad is 6'2" and even his mother was taller than he was. But what is probably worse is that my dad is about 5'8" to 5'9" and I'm 5'10" and my friend is 5'8". Haha.

Small part of me wishes I waited. Only a small part.
Oh you're waiting one way or another...unfortunately.

i wonder, are you blind or are you the importer of this not-at-all-similar product...

Well, no. But I wasn't clear lol.

I was deciding between a standard band on launch day (which I decided to buy) or waiting for the sport.

I was saying a small part of me wishes I had just waited for the sport. But in happy with the Watch I got so it's all good. :)

Yeah and super lame it won't play local music off the watch through the app - will only play music from you phone, so you have to take your phone with you to run. Kinda defeats the purpose...

No you don't, you change the source in the music app. Pretty sure NRC does support series 2. Strava however doesn't but the uipdate is coming, so I'm still running with my damn phone for now.

Ah gotcha ;)

Yeah I saw that they have exclusive watch faces too, like the Hermés edition. So like I originally said, kind of dumb that we can't get these features on the SS model. They should just offer the Nike band and with the band is a one-use code that you can scan with your iPhone and it activates those features on your Watch. Or at the very least sell a SS Nike model. Whenever I upgrade my Series 0 (probably Series 3), it will come with a wristband that I don't need anyway, so might as well make it the Nike one, which I think looks nice and sporty for when I'm working out. I only really bought the SS model because of the sapphire display. I'm the type of person who goes a little crazy if I have scratches on my display and I'm really bad about knocking my watch into things that scratch it because I flail my arms around like an idiot when I walk.

Haha. From what I've read using Apple Care, you can have the watch refinished for $69/each two times during the lifetime of the watch. That's one reason I bothered to purchase Apple Care.

But yeah, I would've rather already had my watch and then had bands I could purchase or something and scan as you said. I don't understand why this model was delayed compared to the others. It was rather annoying. I can't imagine the delay was in bands, other than they knew it would sell less because it's specific so they opted to produce more base models, delaying the Nike version. I mostly want the band and the faces, so if the delay was app related, it wouldn't have bothered me. I would've rather had the watch sooner and the apps later.

Does this apply to small scratches? Or do I just have to smash it I would probably have this happen more than twice, lol. I wear my watch to do yard work a lot because I get reimbursed through my work's insurance program for being active. I put a protective case on it, but the screen isn't protected because I don't want to fiddle with a screen protector each time I go outside. The sapphire has saved it many times! It has a lip on the case which prevents most impacts but there are so many times it has been grazed by sharp objects or stones. But even if I didn't use it outside, there are so many times I graze doorknobs and doorways. My old watch face had a lot of scratches on it, but it wasn't very noticeable since it didn't have an active backlit display.
