I was wondering if there is ANY way I can send my rebate in after the allotted month. The deadline passed only 4 days ago and I was out of the country, do you think it is even worth trying to get my rebate processed?

Hi, folks, I am in the same situation as you. I was asked to resubmit all the copies. So I faxed them last Friday. But the online rebate status is still not updated today. How long does it always take to update the rebate status online after I fax everything? Thanks!

It may not always be the smoothest process, but I don't think they're trying to screw us.

I for one did just about everything I possibily could do wrong when I sent in the UPCs. I peeled off the one from the Nano, and the one from the iMac I only cut out the UPC itself, without the serial nbr, etc, *and* I then pealed away most of the cardboard backing--all of these are things that the instructions say not to do...I really should pay more attention to these things.

When I realized that I'd done all of these things wrong I called customer service and the girl there said that we should just wait and they'd let me know if anything was wrong. From what she said, it sounded like the itemized receipt from the store was the most important part (and I had included that). I kept a close eye on it from the website, and today my check for $199 arrived without any problems at all.

Surely if they wanted to screw everybody and take advantage of the situation I would have been pretty high on the list after all the rules I broke.

Just my thoughts.

Your claim has been processed and fulfilled.

Thank you for using the Apple Online Rebate Status Tool.
Best Regards,
The Apple Rebate Center Team

I'm just waiting for the check to arrive. I did the REBATE STATUS and the above information appeared as a reply. So, "check's in the mail!!!":):p

Such crap. I still haven't gotten my check. They sent it to the wrong address. I called on August 24th about it. They said they'd handle it. I just called today, and apparently they just said that it was reissued on Sept 14th. The check better arrive this week.

I got both my rebate checks last Saturday. $199 and $100, what a relief. I stapled UPC's and double checked everything on it(caught that you can't send and order confirmation right at the end) then called and talked to someone at apple about the whole process and she said she would make a not that I was sending it that day. Then I sent mine certified return receipt. Then the checks came a few weeks later. I'll never do another rebate again however and usually hate them. Definately worth it for $299. But that's the last one for me.

My Apple Rebate Refund Run-around

Purchased a Mac Book and iPod for the "Buy a Mac and get an iPod Nano Free" promo with the Apple Education Individuals in August. Submitted all the information necessary and everything was tracking well on their online Rebate Submission tracker. About 20 days later after checking my rebate was processed and finalized and told to expect the check in 30 days. So I waited the 30 days…nothing. So I called the 800# at Apple and after being on hold for about 15 minutes and was finally able to talk to an operator. They did show that my check was processed and mailed, but was returned to them by the post office as forwarded back since they couldn’t locate me. The operator read back my mailing address and it was correct so I couldn’t figure out why it would be returned since I always get my mail. So the operator tells me they will re-issue the check in about 2 days and send back to me.

I wait about 8 days and finally received an envelope from Apple. Open the envelope up and they stuffed the previous rebate check in there and I find out why my rebate almost took 60 days to receive. When they printed out my address the first time, they did not include my Apartment Number! Even though there was a slot on the rebate form, and my apt. # was listed on their computers, when it was printed out they left that line off. Thank goodness when they re-sent it to me they included the apartment address. So those who are awaiting their checks and have an Address 2 line or apt. #’s, double check with Apple that they have it correctly added.

I purchased my Macbook @ Sept 14th and I will be mailing the iPod rebate form on October 1st. I will recieve my 'free' printer by the 4th and will send the rebate form on the same day.

After reading this thread, I taped the UPCs on the forms just to be sure that nothing will fall off when they open my mail.
