I dunno, I thought the iPod HiFi looked pretty nice. Clean design and professional looking. The B&O Beolit 15 looks much better than all of them and no doubt sounds far better. But the Beats Pill is just crap looking, IMO.

I fondly remember lots of people bitching about the iPhone 6 design too... pretty sure Apple still sold millions of them.

I agree with a previous poster about the unnecessary bashing of beats products. I wonder how many people here have actually tried them out and/or compared them to a different product, or are you just jumping on the band wagon? I have the "regular" sized beats pill at home and love it. Not sure why people are complaining about the design. It's lightweight, small, portable and can fit it easily into a back pack, back pocket, etc. Why so much hate? I honestly wonder if they changed only the name on the label how many people would like these products.

They're jumping on the band wagon. Especially since the company is associated with a subculture that they don't approve of . . . . as in popular culture, not hiphop.

I have the PowerBeats 1 and they were awesome except for the fact that they couldn't stay in my ears. Best bass reproduction ever. I've sense moved to on/over ear headsets and picked up a Liberator XLBT from House of Marley, mainly because they were cheaper than the Beats Studios.

After a year and $3B later, Apple has nothing to show for it except whatever sales they made in headphones and speakers, and those profits were probably wiped out by the lawsuits against Beats and this recall.

There was actually a good video on YouTube a few months back where they had some campus students (I can hear people typing their sarcastic replies already) "blind test" some Beats headphones vs rival brands, they actually did pretty well... and no, they weren't 'bro' type students, just regular people.

It is ironic that a lot of people jump on the anti-Beats bandwagon because they are so offended by the Beats bandwagon. Just buy what you like to buy, but try to have an open mind towards what others actually like/want/need. I have absolutely no need for a set of open back Grados for my subway commute and if I sit around watching music videos on my iPad, my Beats are more than able to match the output quality available to them.

They're focusing heavily on the Beats streaming software right now. It's due for an official announcement and revamp very soon, maybe even at the WWDC next week. I'm sure the hardware will receive a revamp at some point, but with such a large acquisition, change will be slow. The only thing we can be sure of is that it will be well-thought through and well designed, like everything Apple does.

As for them catching fire . . . . let's not forget how many Sony, Dell, Apple, and HP products had to recalled not too long ago for the same reason.

You definitely have a point about setting the music and walking away from the speaker and not constantly looking at it but style still matters to many people. Outside of this issue the only product I remember Apple having that caught on fire is the Powerbook 5300. You put Apple in the category as having many products that caught fire not long ago. Like which ones?

The iPhone 5 is one of the more recent ones.

Then there was this one.

Aesthetics are all based on the person anyway. I rather like anything that symmetrical at the very least.

Exactly. I'm rarely sitting back and really listening to music with my pill. Most of the time its background music while washing the car, doing yard work, tailgating, etc. It does the job I want it to do.

That's how I feel. I think they have their place. I have listened to all of the beats products as well as a lot of other bluetooth speakers, and while some of them do sound terrible, the studio headphones are very enjoyable to listen to, and I think the Pills sound awesome with certain genres of music. As for the design being ugly, it literally looks like a pill? I think it's kind of cool. It's far more portable than other portables out there, seeing as it has a handle and/or fits in the hand well.

The Studio's may be called studio but that's really not where they're best. If I wanted to pick up a pair of comfortable headphones and jam out, they'd certainly be a go-to.That being said, the only reason I am considering the Studios as a viable option is because I can get them half off.

The Studios, (while certainly a misleading name) when first released had issues with the headband breaking in half very easily. A person with a modest-sized head could easily crack them upon putting them over their ears. That became a major problem. JUNK. They have since been updated to fix that problem but they still feel very flimsy and cheap, especially when you fold them. It's pretty obvious very little money is put into the design. So regardless of the sound improvements the build quality still sucks on the Beats Studios. And the Beats Pros still need a major update.

The only (I refuse to use your low-grade form of profanity) complaining people had about the iPhone 6 is it was a bigger phone and people were not used to it, especially since Apple got their customers into believing smaller phones made more sense. Beats products are not a new product. They've been out for years with the same crap reputation so your point fails.

because it was not designed to be worn on one ear like most DJ/Studio headsets. That didn't stop people from trying and breaking the headband in the process. Not a Beats problem but a failure to use common since by the user/consumer.

You gave me an article dated back in 2006. 9 years ago. You said Apple recently had multiple recalls for products catching fire. Come on Skunk.

Come on Henry . . . . READ brother. Read the stories. They were recalled because they posed a fire risk.

One was from 2006, the other references iPhone 5 models from 2014.

That's not why they broke. Go on YouTube. Many people's Studios broke by simply putting them over their ears.

Sir, you brought it up. You stated that Apple recently had multiple recalls. Then you send me a 9 year old article.

Apple want to be clear :D "The Beats Pill XL was introduced by Beats by Dre in November 2013. Apple acquired Beats in 2014." (Quote from the Press Release)

As opposed to taking the blame for someone else's mistake?

That's one heavy goalpost you're moving.

Recently, as in last year, and multiple as in more than one.

Sounds like I proved my point.
Nah, I'm finished you with you because it's plenty obvious you regret writing such nonsense because you know you can't back it up so you spend multiple posts trying to justify it. The only thing you proved is that you can't prove anything. That's okay. Thanks.

I got a JBL Speaker doc for the Summer and it has great sound. Cost me about $20 or so I think. No blue tooth on it though. But since I've got multiple iPads around the house (and frankly some iPhone 5s that I haven't gotten around to putting on Craigslist), I've always got something handy to plug into it.
$300+ for portable speakers is ridiculous.

Really, it was just over the size of the phone? Hmm... I remember people saying something along the lines of "oh, those antenna bands look terrible... Ive doesn't have the touch anymore, etc. etc.". So before you say that my point fails do your homework, it will make you look more educated. And don't even get me started on your "crap reputation" comment - that just comes from people who refuse to change their POV regardless of how much the actual product has changed.

HAHAHAHA!

Yeah, I know what that means. I used to do that in the third grade when I couldn't win an argument. Then I grew up.

Anyway, I did more of your homework for you and attached the first hit that came up when I Googled Apple Recalls. As I said, there were quite a few and it's not unheard of especially when it comes to Li-Ion batts getting hot and catching fire.

Take a break, like I said, that goalpost was pretty darn big.

You're so worked up over my Beats comments. Hmm, you must be an owner that can't stand to hear any criticism about them. I'm seeing that with a few people here. #buyerfrustration.
