Killers of the Flower Moon was the second most boring film I have seen all year, right after Oppenheimer. Good grief was this a slog. Somewhere in there was an interesting story, but it just never came to the surface. I'm sure many other people feel the same way, but they feel like they're supposed to like it since it's a Martin Scorsese film with a-list actors.
Maybe you watch too many YouTube shorts, that's why

We're constantly conditioned to not be able to sit in one place unless we're constantly bombarded with impulses. You gotta be very conscious about it and avoid such impulses at all costs.

If you thing this isn't a real thing that's actually happening, just watch Space Odyssey in full length and one sitting. Then you'll know how ADHD'd we've become.

You act like they are all one thing. Some of his films are brilliant, absolute masterpieces. This one is not. It's poorly paced and edited, with a subject matter that can barely keep you awake.
Depends on personal tastes. There are times I don't mind watching paint dry. I paced myself — watched it in two settings at home like I would read a book. I don't read a book cover to cover in one sitting, why should I watch a movie in one sitting.

Does anyone beyond studios patting themselves on the back still care about these awards?
Yes, film critics and the actors and writers who can command higher fees. But at one point it was amazingly one of the most watched shows in America. It's not my thing...but apparently has been very popular.

Isn't saying "Apple received Academy Award nominations" as disingenuous as "Odeon Cinemas received Academy Award nominations". They are not the studio, not even the producers; they are barely co-distributors.
Not sure what you're talking about, both films were produced by Apple Studios.

I thought it was great -
being a Brit I hadn’t been aware of the background and was so fascinated that I watched the movie, then read the book that the film was based on to better understand, and then watched the movie again….not all on the same day!!! Excellent movie and well deserving its nominations. Lily Gladstone was terrific and deserves to win the best female performance award.

Nope, but thanks for the insult and ridiculous assumption. I love long content. But it has to be interesting, not boring. The subject matter of KOTFM is dull as a rock.

Thanks, i felt the same with Oppenheimer and was really annoyed with the Trailer like music & cuts. I haven’t seen The Killers of the Flower Moon yet.

Did you like The Irishmen?

It was one of the most boring movings and I hope this one doesn’t feel the same…
I didn't find The Irishman boring. I found the performances distracting, but it had some really good parts. It's slow, but no where near as boring as Oppenheimer or Killers of the Flower Moon. Not even in the same league.

Stick to Michael Bay films ;)

Killers of the Flower Moon was great but Oppenheimer was a masterpiece.
Neither was anything close. This is what you were told before watching them so you think you have to feel that way, but I assure you, having your own thoughts is perfectly OK and will not ostracize you. Oppenheimer was an absolute disaster of boring subject matter, horrible costumes and makeup, and distracting meaningless subplots. Garbage film.

curious what movies do you like? are you a super hero movie guy?

That might be the issue.
The **** kind of comment is that? Why do you think I watched these 2 movies in the first place? Because they are the kind of movie I would usually watch, and like. They just happen to be terrible. I have little tolerance for directors who are passed their prime (which both Scorsese and Nolan are) who put out mediocre work and expect critics to continue to treat them like it is one of their past masterpieces. These are NOT good films. They are decidedly mediocre, like most content being produced today.

Still didn’t answer my question. Tell me some good movies.

Nothing irks me more than when millionaires who live in fantasy land get up on stage and start telling the general public how to live their life.
Telling us to ditch our ICE vehicles to save the planet while they get in their limousines on the way to their private jets for a vacation halfway around the world.

why is this question so difficult for you? I am not here to judge.
Not here to judge, yet you criticised someone after YOU said they might like Super Hero movies. Slightly hypocritical don’t you think? Nevermind. I’m not sure why you’re actually asking or why someone would want to be judged.

What’s wrong with super hero films?
