An honest question. How can I hide posts from an individual so that I can read the posts of others, regardless of the topic?

It's not a binary choice. You can leave your house plenty and still be smart about how/when/where you go.

True but there are many that just don’t do that. If you are that worried about it you may be best to stay out of public and he did mention quarantining until a vaccine or effective treatment is found. That’s just ridiculous and I’m just not letting a virus that has an overwhelmingly massive survival rate dictate my life.

You need to think about who you might kill if you came down with CIVID-19, maybe you might survive, but the person you might infect might not survive. It’s not about ‘me’ it’s about ‘everyone’ and that in part is why the US is in so much trouble right now.

Yep. Think of it like drunk driving. Drinking until drunk is a personal choice, but driving on public roads and highways while drunk can negatively effect other people's lives. That's why it's illegal. It's not really just a personal choice anymore.

What's so difficult about following some simple rules...is beyond my knowledge.
Anyway, where I live everyone is upset for mandatory masks, but still we wear them, almost everybody in public outdoor and everybody in public places indoor. I can assure some cocky folks in here they would not last more than 15 minutes before being elegantly brought back to respect the rules in force.

2-part question to anyone who is pro-lockdown (no politics please):

1. Do you still have a job?
2. Do/would you still want lockdown if you lose/lost it?

Unfortunately “I” have a family and bills to pay. I can’t afford to sit on my butt at home. You can probably guess by my screen name that America can’t afford it either.

Edit....here I have my other screen name. Don’t haul steel anymore but general freight that everyone needs on a daily basis.

I agree with the simple rules. I don’t agree with shutting the country down and literally ruining us.

I have enjoyed the freedom of breathing fresh air everywhere I go without a face diaper and you can enjoy the freedom of customizing your cute Memoji face covering to whatever color makes your heart sing. Different strokes!
Because it’s all about ME!!!

As if you are alone with that burden. Since essential workers have been caring for and supplying us since this started you ain’t special. What I see is most of these workers doing every they can to keep themselves, family, and us safe by following company and government recommendation. Then there are people like you, unwilling to see past your nose.

Any time CV19 is mentioned on these forums it turns into a misinformation dumpster fire. I wish they’d just stick the threads in the politics section.

It’s actually funny in a way to see the pendulum swing so far. I belong mainly to outdoor and gun forums. Let’s just say the tech geek forum opinion on covid is very different from those places. I bet the opinions on government handouts for example would follow right along the same lines.

1. Yes.
2. Yes if it helped flatten the curve of the virus. It has helped a lot here in NYC. We now have the lowest cases in the country. I am thankful I can work remotely.

I don't read sarcasm in your post, I read assumptions and garbage. I read someone who is stepping very close to the rules of this forum to harass people's views . Yes, of course I care about life! I'm all onboard for quarantine, I've been working from home now for almost 4 months and closure of things with very strict regulations on distancing, etc. COVID-19 is not the flu.

Because you catching it could mean you pass it onto someone whom it could kill, duh!

If you test for it, then you should go into isolation until you get the results back. And if you test positive, you should go into isolation until you've got over the infection, or you go into hospital if it's bad enough until you've recovered.
We would need daily testing of every person to “know” we don’t have it. It doesn’t work.

You May be able to work at home, but guess what? Not everyone can, including Apple store employees. Again, we take risks every day.

Take precautions and stay home if you believe you’re sick. Otherwise, live your life.

Well, since I do not “have” Coronavirus and I prefer breathing air instead of carbon dioxide , I suppose it is all about me.

“I am enjoying the freedom to randomly discharge my pistol in arbitrary directions and you can enjoy the freedom of giving a **** about other people. Different strokes!”

Does customizing your Memoji face diaper indicate you care about other people and is my breathing of fresh air without a face diaper the same as randomly shooting a gun in your opinion? Have you been that brainwashed?

If they are doing this based on what the media reports, they are merely costing themselves income.. Most of the media with rare exceptions is ginning this up. As they test more, they get more results, most people are asymptomatic, and hospitalizations and ventilations and fatalities are way way down.. States with the least barriers are doing far better than states that went overboard on the lockdowns, Course hardly anyone is counting the other human costs created by this..

As someone else noted, some how the bar got moved, it changed from flatten the curve to stop it at all costs, which of course is ridiculous.. The more we get out, the more people may become infected, and since 99% or so recover or have no symptoms, they become immune..

The US has handled this virus horribly. I have seen 3rd world countries handle this pandemic better. Jamaica, for instance , has a robust covid-19 protocol in place that their citizens and businesses comply with. They have had 10 covid deaths....10! for a 3rd world country. It is ridiculous the US still hasn't done half what they are doing.

Not sure where you live but I’m curious to hear how exactly these “cocky folks” would be “brought back to respect the rules.”

I agree. I am worried that one day I may reinfect my friends if I get COVID and then their demises would be on my hand.

I care about myself but I care more about how my existence impacts others too. I hate egotism.

To be honest, everyday makes me think that the US is pretty much a third-world country in terms of govt. corruption, income inequity, and disregard for science and public health studies.

In fact, most of the actual capital here which is earned isn't based on labor but debt owed to other countries. Our country is on credit. I really like America but honestly I am not scared to point out its shortcomings too.

Several members of this forum are keyboard phenomena, those who "I am a real man, I don't wear a mask, it's all a joke inflated by the media". And maybe where they live it is possible to act like that, their environment let them act this way. Now imagine entering a supermarket where every single other human being is wearing a mandatory mask: how long can you last without? 5 minutes? 10? You wear it or you go. Simple.

Interesting analogy. Do you hold your breath while you're out in public?

How are they going to be “brought back to respect the rules?” It’s amusing that you’re calling people out for being keyboard warriors while using this strident language. But hey, you do you, tough guy!

I can’t speak for the poster, but it might be a good idea considering the amount of mouth breathing face diaper users.
