I played for a bit and it feels like most of the players fold every game, and I've won nearly every game so far.

Is it supposed to be this easy?

I’ve actually seen plenty of people over the years request this, seems like a cult favorite.

I’m one of those, so I’m very happy to see this. Someone at Apple has listened! Thank you to whomever that was! It was so good to play this with friends locally over Wi-Fi on our shiny new iPhones.

To all the gambling comments: this is a poker game that eschewed (and still eschews) insidious unlimited “Consumable” In-App Purchases (IAPs), because they weren’t even supported by the App Store at the time. Only after adding support did games with gambling-like strategies and elements come flooding in. I wish Apple had taken a quality and moral stand against them.

Consumable IAPs have done little else but bring a flood of trashy “Freemium” games to the App Store. Many—including and especially poker and slot machine type “games”—are now (finally) being called into question by governments for the way vulnerable people can be coaxed into spending unlimited sums of money in a “game”, very quickly even. Apple has been a complicit and willing partner in this by taking a tidy cut of the proceeds.

Regular “one-off” IAPs like expansions, or subscription-based IAPs are fine. It’s the Consumable type (in-game currencies, loot boxes and the like) that are the problem. Apple may care about privacy, but do they care enough about social responsibility? Just look at the way some of these apps advertise themselves, directly in the App Store even:

Apples App Store is still in it's 10th celebration year for 2 more days, read carefully....

Wikipedia says July 10, 2018

So they're doing an entire year of celebration?

This is weird. Seems like either someone forgot to publish this in time (almost an entire year ago), or it really wasn't originally meant to celebrate anything at all. They might as well have waited a few days and celibrate the 11th anniversary.

When I hear “Texas Hold ‘Em”, I think of the line from Casino Royale (the Daniel Craig movie; in the book they played Baccarat):

“A dry martini. Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?”

One funny thing is, when they made the movie - Kina Lillet no longer existed.

Apple: We are very aware of the vast amount of hours people spend on their phones - Screen Time was developed for you to monitor that time and be aware. We care. Poker anyone?

Weird Apple promotes gambling when is forbidden in many countries around world even in many states in USA
Yeah, regardless of my personal view, I'm quite surprised at Apple doing this when you consider the moral guardians attitude they tend to take on anything else that's even slightly contentious.

I no longer have an iPhone so I cant play now, but this game kept me company many nights out to sea when I was in the Navy on my first Gen iPhone.... Good times. I never understood why they got rid of it in the first place, but glad people who never got to play it now can!

In a surprise move tied to the App Store's 10th anniversary last year
This is the most confusing thing I've read today, lol. So wouldn't it just be the App Store's 11th anniversary? That's tomorrow, lol.

I remember playing Super Monkey Ball on my original iPhone while waiting in line at AT&T for my iPhone 3G and people were surprised I was able to play games already. I was like "Uhh, the App Store launched last night, guys." I think the problem was most the people in line were resellers and not actual Apple fans. A few weeks later, after many problems with having a lot of apps installed on my 3G, I got an actual response email from Steve Jobs, one of his really short replies and he connected me with a senior iTunes engineer to figure things out. Good times.

You're just that good. Book a flight to Vegas and go play with some real money ASAP!!!

That's right, I said I was playing on my flip phone for a 3GS but it was the 3G. I jumped in after the original iPhone. The first game I bought was where you had to move drips of water to a goal bucket. I think I paid $10 for it. Oh how times have changed.

Agreed, odd timing.

Haha yes, I had that one. I probably spent close to $100 on App Store launch night and a lot of it was pretty much garbage by today's standards. I remember buying this $15 weather app, lol. But given how limited the iPhone had been up until that point, it was like a whole new world of exploration and wonder.

Yah, someone at Apple can't calculate? Strange.

Maybe the app was stuck in the Review Process for a year! :p:p:p
Haha yikes! Throwing some major (but accurate) shade over here

If they expect the their customers to all join in and assume that very fine-grained technicality, then that is a massive PR oversight on Apple's part...
