I have no idea what all that rambling even means. Makes no sense.

Disney+ currently does not support sending Atmos to the homepods, just regular dolby 5.1 (confirmed by Disney+ support) . But we already knew that.

I’m having these exact problems and my stereo pair are just 2 feet away from my modem and router. 😡🤬

Fixed. Also fixed is the silly bug that caused Homepods to randomly low their volume when they were linked with an Apple TV 4K and playing content. Volume bar would pop up and just lower itself, without touching the remote at all. Very weird.

I’ve noticed that on Apple TV, they now show “Auto, Atmos available” instead of just Auto under audio options, making it clearer that Atmos is supported through the homepods.

Great. Now we need an Atmos bage at the beginning of the actual playback. Or a stereo one. Or a 5.1 one. Or a 7.1 one. We need, goddamnit, visual confirmation of which audio track we are playing.

Solved my 'Hey Siri what is my update' as it now plays on my Homepod and not say go to the phone.

Also when I transferred music from my iPhone 12 to the mini I felt the haptic touch. Don't remember this before.

Has anyone else noticed the grammar issues in Siri responses? Asking her to turn on the Dining room lights, and her response is Ok, the light are on..

I am hoping this fix clears that up..
Yes, for me that only recently (a month or 2?) started to happen. She would always use plural for multiple lights in a room, then all of a sudden it was the "Light are on".

Say what? I've had HomePods since release day (and now a Mini) and never ever had it randomly play music.
I'm ready to return mine due to that alone. Late at night, I'll be watching TV, and suddenly she'll start playing music. I'm not even sure where it's coming from, since I don't subscribe to Apple Music (even a free trial) and I've at times turned all of the iPhones in the house off. It seems to have a multi-gigabyte cache of music that it pulled off of my phone or something.

Maybe they have Eric Nakagawa working for Apple with Siri? :p

WTF.... Are you sure your media access isn't set to everyone?
Home Settings > Allow Speaker & TV Access.
Make sure it's not set to everyone.

Otherwise sounds like the touch sensor on top of the HomePod's has dirt or something which is being detected as a touch input (which by default plays).

I wonder if this will get her to stop playing music at random. It's really annoying.

I had that happen on my iPhone randomly yesterday, it started playing some random Kanye West song, when I’ve never played one in my life! The phone was face down, Hey Siri isn’t enabled on it and no Bluetooth devices connected to it.

I hope in the future update they link the timers that are running on the different homepods in each room. Right now if I set a timer in the kitchen and I head to the bedroom, the homepod there has no idea what my timer is. It says " no timers set on this homepod" which sucks.

She's most likely accidentally set her nickname. Possibly a butt-hey-siri-call-me...
This is a good thought. I am going to have her change her nickname when she gets home. Heck, even if this wasn’t the actual cause of the problem it may possibly be a solution! Thanks for the good idea!

That’s been driving me bonkers - it may be only a small thing but it really jars.

Still having playback issues after update. I’m getting a massive 10-second delay and second HomePod comes in halfway through each song.

Oh no. This is all very strange. I wonder if the issues are wifi related. Some users have a smooth experience with homepods, others, very glitchy.

It’s up to the app developers to incorporate the API into their app. For all the bitching and moaning from Spotify, I thought they’d be the first to offer it.
Eh there's still no support to change the default music app for the HomePod, it was in the beta yet it still has not been released.

Yes, there is, but it works only with Pandora for now.

In the Pandora app, tap on the Profile tab, select the gear icon in the top, righthand corner of the screen, and then tap ‘Connect to HomePod’ and then ‘Use in Home’ when prompted.

Then, you can select Pandora to be your default music and podcast service on Apple HomePods. Follow the steps below on your iOS or iPadOS device:

  1. Open the Home app on your iOS device.
  2. Select the home icon at the top left of the screen.
  3. Tap Home Settings.
  4. Next tap your iCloud avatar to view personal settings.
  5. Select Preferred Service and then Pandora.

Does this work without having to finish every request with '...on Pandora'?

Yes, if you do all the steps that I indicated in my post.

Spotify, Amazon and Tidal need to update their API´s/apps to enable native playback on the Homepod. Is up to them, now.
