I have that too. And my network is large (19 access points on Cisco Meraki) on a 260 acre property. I walk from point A to point B where the HomePod is and in the handoff of my iPhone from AP to AP somewhere it says f it and loses track. So when I finally get to point B room and say Ok siri lights on its like oh sorry i cant find your phone. I just completed my first organic test of this and so far I am glad to say Siri is 1 for 1. I might have been hearing things but she sounded a bit prouder than normal this time.
I’d say maybe 40% better? Hard to tell? Still happens.

This is a good thought. I am going to have her change her nickname when she gets home. Heck, even if this wasn’t the actual cause of the problem it may possibly be a solution! Thanks for the good idea!
Update: This didn't fix the problem but I did find the (or a) solution. I deleted my wife's access to the Home in HomeKit and then re-added her and it worked. I have no idea what caused it in the first place, but at least it no longer sounds like Siri is telling my wife that I have a mistress.
