I have the CX 48” and it’s an amazing set. Love it 👍👍👍Enjoying LG? Did you get the CX? Mine is being delivered next week.
Could because the Apple TV is trying to get the output from eArc rather then the homepods. I would disable it on that hdmi port and see. Make sure homepod is the output and auto audio format. And this is what I get lol
Your audio format in that picture is set to off not autoFor anyone in doubt. Here are screenshots from my tv. My tv isn’t atmos supported. Atmos logo shows on content. Tv output set to HomePods, audio format auto.

Sounds good, but how do i check if it is atmos? when i play an atmos title with the built in speakers it says atmos when it starts playing but not when HomePod is selected. When it’s HomePod how does it sound?

How does one get add it in???
edit: figured it out, thanks!
In Apple TV settings, go to AirPlay and HomeKit, and go to Room. How did you add it to the home app?
I honestly don’t know. I know when I play something from Apple TV+ I played the Springsteen documentary. It didn’t have atmos before but now it does say atmos however I can’t tell when I play a movie that I have purchased that I know has atmos (if that makes sense)Sounds good, but how do i check if it is atmos? when i play an atmos title with the built in speakers it says atmos when it starts playing but not when HomePod is selected.
Tried that. It won’t let me do it. I’m signed in to iCloud on the Apple TV and on my iPhone. In Apple TV settings, go to AirPlay and HomeKit, and go to Room.
What did you do?@B/D Jesus Christ. You’re right. The sound is so much more better on HomePod now that I have it working correctly!!
Thanks for helping out.
I just followed yours and B/D’s instructions on adding the Apple TV in the same room as HomePod, and then setting it as default. What did you do?
In that screen, are you seeing your Home name at the top followed by all the rooms listed in your home?Tried that. It won’t let me do it. I’m signed in to iCloud on the Apple TV and on my iPhone.
Nope. Says I need an iCloud account to use AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.In that screen, are you seeing your Home name at the top followed by all the rooms listed in your home?
I am wondering if it has something with these 2 being in standby? In that screen, are you seeing your Home name at the top followed by all the rooms listed in your home?
Where are you setting the HomePods as a default from? Using the tv controller or from pulldown menu or Where? Thanks....Most of us seem to be able to set the homepods as the default. The beta tvOS allowed this and so does the release version. Have you got both devices on 14.2, the HomePod and AppleTV? You need both on 14.2.
