Well I’ve resigned myself to the fact the iPad is not going to get Home Screen widgets or the App Library in iPadOS 14 - at least not in the initial release (and probably not until iPadOS 15), but I’m still really, really annoyed that the split keyboard was removed and hasn’t been added back. Such an incredibly useful feature, I can’t figure out why it was removed.

Maybe so that those who type a lot have a bigger incentive to buy a $200-350 keyboard from Apple?

I see no other reason. There might be something more than AirPods sales when it comes to 3,5mm port removal, but nothing comes to my mind when it comes to removal of the split keyboard on the iPad.

Is it stable enough to install as a daily driver now on your primary iPhone now?

for me, no ...

1. apps weren't updating ... I had 100's of apps that would just not update (tried all the usual tricks ... reset network settings, reset all, enabled cellular data, enabled all tic-marks in app-store ... no go)

2. I couldn't search for apps installed outside of the app library ... effectively I had to use the app library to search for any app ... so ... scroll all the way to the right (for me, 4 swipes), another to the right to prompt App Library, scroll down once, scroll down to prompt keyboard, then I could type in the app I'm searching for). App search would NOT work from any place other than the App Library. This was true on IPADOS as well, but IPADOS doesn't have App Library so this effectively rendered searching for installed Apps on the IPAD inoperable (PITA).

3. Some MISC issues ... spring boarding several times per week ... I didn't see any excessive battery drain nor critical apps crashing ... so that's at least a good thing.

I opened several tickets w/Apple via feedback ... this showed for me on IPX(world phone) and the IPAD 10.5 pro ... on versions B4 - B7.

I rolled back after B7 didn't fix/address it ... I think I'll wait until 15 pokes its head around the corner before doing anything 14

for me yes, PB1 had a few hiccups but still stable enough. Now I have no issues at all. On a 11 Pro Max and a 2020 SE
The worst I had was the dumb No Cellular Message in the first few betas, but a restart cleared it, and it never returned during the same beta. And the annoying settings badge. That wouldn't have even been so bad if logging out and into iCloud didn't clear my wallet. And the weird Messages stuff that seems gone so far in 7/8.
