I wear my AP Pros when walking in the mall. I've noticed sometimes when I walk by certain stores, it's almost like there is some sort of interference and humming sound. I use the noise cancelling mode. Any ideas why? Could it be a WiFi network, some sort of bluetooth interference or florescent lighting?

It's most likely the ANC having difficulty with frequencies near those stores; I'll bet the Airpods Pro don't hum if you turn ANC off. Could be HVAC noise or other high/low frequency sound.

The previous firmware version fixed the red exclamation mark problem for me. I haven't noticed this issue with the current version either.
Alright, cool. Well, you're one. Of course, I've read many from others that said it didn't on not just MR but many other sites. So, I think you're outnumbered.

Your sealing problem is the source of the sound quality issue. Unfortunately there are going to be some customers who can’t get a good fit with any of the three ear tips. If they’re falling out, that’s a pretty good indicator of a poor fit. I would definitely return them.

When Comply releases their compatible tips, you might want to give them a try if you still have any interest.
I tried to change the tips and could not remove it without tearing it. What is the trick?

Who knows, normally only people who have problems post about it. There is no way of knowing if the silent majority does have this problem. I had the charging issue with the original firmware.

The case doesnt charge my right airpod anymore its very frustrating
Yeah I had the same frustration where it didn’t even charge one of the AirPod even though the case was plugged in and to the outlet.... return it if you can I am completely satisfied with my first generation.

I went to Best Buy where the Geek Squad is an Apple Authorized Service Provider and now I have to spend what will probably be over a week without my right AirPod. And even then I'm not confident that a replacement will solve the issue as it may be an issue with the case itself.

You have learned to accept this as the new normal. What did they do before a product could be remotely "fixed"? You would have to take it to a repair shop or send it back to the manufacturer for it to be fixed or replaced at a huge cost to them. So back then there was a lot more testing and verification of products to make sure this type of thing didn't happen. Now that isn't the case, if there is a bug discovered in pre-release testing that looks like it can be fixed later rather than holding up the release up they go forward and just "patch" it later.

I have several products to prove that no, not being able to update firmware did not mean products were flawless. It just meant they stayed flawed! It even included products that COULD be updated, but the manufacturer didn’t bother. For instance my Sony cameraphone that slowly filled the memory with junk, to the point that the camera stopped functioning, and the only solution was expensive repair.

Thank you for software updates!

I have returned my Airpods Pro due to fit issues, but I did get sync issues twice in the time I had them. This probably adresses something like that. Given that most seem to not have issues, it is not guaranteed that this would be caught in beta testing. And yes, I professionally work with beta testing firmware.

You don’t even see what you are saying!

A product you paid for with your hard earned money had a serious flaw and even you admit it. Don’t get me wrong it is great that Sony(in your case) and Apple released a software fix but Sony and Apple didn’t reimburse you to fix a fault in a product they sold you.

I can guarantee you if I sold Apple a product that was part of the iPhone assembly process that had a flaw that caused iPhones to fail after they left the factory, Apple wouldn’t be satisfied with a “free” firmware update that corrected the problem with any new devices my product helped assemble.

You're reading it wrong.

Sony never fixed the issue for him through a free software update. It required an expensive repair. His point is that products will inevitably have flaws no matter how much testing is done and it is better that they're fixed later for free than just left to rot with faults.

Technological improvements make things more complicated than they were in the past.

So, as it’s impossible to release a complicated electronic product knowing it is 100% flawless (nobody can deny that), are you proposing nothing is released...ever?

That’s a genuine question (I’m not being offhand), because you are seemingly going out of your way to criticise this firmware update and it’s timing, yet not positing a visible alternative. What would be your solution? I honestly would love to know.

I'm very confused by that genuine question. It appears you attributing things other people have said to me.

guessing the air pods need to be connected for this to appear.

mine just say 2B588 when it comes to the firmware version...how do I know if it's updated?

Same question. I have 2B588 too but it looks like these guys are saying we're already been updated. Just didn't know it!

I had something similar happen with my AirPods Pro: left them in the case and the next day found out the right earbud was 100% charged whereas the left one was at 0%. Not sure why it discharged overnight either since they were almost fully charged before I placed them in the case. I also notice that when I insert them in the case and leave the top open sometimes my iPhone notifies me of the left AirPod quickly keeping disconnecting and reconnecting, although as soon as I close the case everything is fine.

Hopefully the firmware update will iron out these small annoyances: I'm otherwise very happy with the AirPods Pro.
I had the exact problem last week. This week when I say hey Siri it does what I want but keep the sound dimmed for a long time.

No, YOU don’t understand what I am saying: Sony did NOT issue a fix, rendering my phone useless just outside the warranty period. It literally became trash!

TV forgets image settings (not other settings) every time power is disconnected, 15 years ago: No fix. Car forgets TA volume settings when car is turned off: no fix. AV receiver decoding channels wrong. VCR useless after Y2K bug. No fix. There were PLENTY of software/firmware faults in products before updates became a thing. Don’t even get me started on DVD players!

Yep, no way of knowing any exact number. So, I go by number of reports with this particular problem on specific device on certain OS. I've seen more reports of not resolved vs resolved. So...
But, thanks for commenting on the post that you believe it is resolved based upon your use with whichever devices.
