No, my point is how the Airpods were designed. I have used ear plugs, earbuds, in ear headphones, in ear monitors or wahetever you want to call it for 30 years, Sony, Panasonic, Aiwa, Koss, iPod, AKG, Shure.. name them.. I have never had a problem with sealing, only how Air Pods are designed. The tip is pretty opened up and doesn't go in the ear canal so much.

No, because when they're really close to the ear canal, i can hear well, i can hear well how the high frecuencies are mudded, really lack of definition. A good seal, mostly improves the low frecuencies.
Yes, the seal typically affects the frequency response of the lower frequencies. But AirPods Pro have an adaptive EQ feature that uses an interior mic to “hear what you’re hearing” and adjust the frequency response. It could be that the poor seal is interfering with the proper functioning of this feature, but that’s just speculation on my part.

In any case, your description of the sound quality does not match my own experience with AirPods Pro. I find the sound to be quite good given the constraints (particularly Bluetooth).

Are they my choice for critical listening? No. But for wireless on-the-go and use in a noisy office, I like them a lot. Of course sound quality is subjective and varies from person to person.

I realized a pattern, it sounds better with more recent music. Music that I define as more "synthetic". It's sounds fine with pop, dance, hip hop music of nowadays. Music with real instruments, with more details and such, rock, prog rock, blues, jazz, etc.. cymbals and higer frecuencies don't sound so clear and enjoyable.
Sounds like you’re describing Bluetooth/compression artifacts to me.

You’ve never heard of the “Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Sonic electric toothbrush?” ;)
DiamondClean? Does this mean that my teeth shines like a diamond when i use this electric toothbrush..
Better not smile then or you will get mug for your diamondclean teeth..

I DON'T know for sure, it is just odd that if that was the case they would have announced those enhancements during the release if they were that close to the release time and IF that was the case why just just hold off for two weeks? That is great if it is just to "fine tune" things for how long have the AirPods been out for, and yes a A LOT of people have been using them since the release but that is a pretty quick turn around time for a "fine tune".

I find it funny all the negative comments to my "not ready" post. I don't know if people are just being defensive because it is a Apple product and this is Apple forum However I have the new Airpods and really like them I just just pointing out that it seems REALLY soon for a "patch".

Well, you make a lot of assumptions to come up with a weak conclusion that is more opinion than anything else, an opinion not shared by many.

It doesn't seem soon or early to me. The phones, the computers, all follow the same trajectory. Apple freezes the software for manufacturing purposes well in advance to a release so as to stockpile inventory, which takes time. They do this to have any chance of meeting demand. Here we are and they are still sold out. During the stockpiling time (not just time since release) Apple continues to work on the software. Minor tweaks. Of course they release a firmware update to take advantage of these.

I like that Apple doesn't just sit still and wait for people to complain before updating. I really like mine btw.

From an industrial design standpoint, I am in love with the hinge. I like on both version how the hinge past a certain threshold will spring open, but past the other one it spring closes. It's transparent in its use like all good design. The case is my fidget spinner (2016 wants its reference back), but you get my idea. I flick that thing open and closed WAY more than I should.

Same....and happened with two different pairs. The chip connectivity that Apple lauds itself for is extremely flaky. Had issues with multiple Beats X as well.

I’ve had the exact same issues with my Powerbeats Pro. I’ve never had any previous wireless headphones so I didn’t know if that was to be expected.

I’d say about 1/3 of the time only one connects and I’m already out my door and gone and in order to get the 2nd earpiece working you have to put it back in the case etc.

Also about half the time i put the earpieces back in the case it shows a red light and I have to reconnect it at least 1-3 times to get it to turn white.

I would as well, but I'm afraid of breaking it (or causing excess wear to the point that it doesn't close nicely).

I had the red exclamation mark issue and it seems to be fixed for me too.

I also had a strange bug once, and only once, where the audio between the left and the right AirPod lost sync and differed about a half second or so after pulling the right AirPod out to talk to someone and then reinserting it. I never experienced that on my AirPods gen 1.

I'm curious if you could elaborate, as they've been flawless for me (using on an iPhone and iPad). My original Airpods had an issue where the connection for one Airpod was a little bit dodgy so about 10% of the time I put them back in the case, that AirPod wouldn't start charging and would be dead the next time I used them. So I learned to jiggle it a little bit which cleared things up.
This used to happen all of the time on my first gen airpods. Really annoying because I would put them on from out of the charging case and hear the right one give me the low power sound. So far so good on the Pros, but I’ve only had them for less than a week.

It’s not any louder just compared 2 lots one with new firmware and one without and it’s same still lower than AirPods 2, it’s a placebo I’m afraid
I still think it is louder. I recall previously putting 100% volume and it wasn't as loud as now. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So did this fix red exclamation mark issue/glitch?
Some claim yes and others claim no. I'll lean towards most likely not and those claiming that it has have only been using them with the new firmware since mid-yesterday. Not long enough time for a sampling to determine if it's actually fixed or randomly hasn't occurred yet.

The previous firmware version fixed the red exclamation mark problem for me. I haven't noticed this issue with the current version either.

This close to after the product release? YES! This isn't a bug that cropped up after long term extended use or after a change in a production or internal parts supplier change.
Supposition on your part, unless you unpack the bits. While pushing firmware updates aren't something you do lightly, this could simply be improvements performed since the product was sent to shipping.

Pretty common in manufacturing.

I wear my AP Pros when walking in the mall. I've noticed sometimes when I walk by certain stores, it's almost like there is some sort of interference and humming sound. I use the noise cancelling mode. Any ideas why? Could it be a WiFi network, some sort of bluetooth interference or florescent lighting?

When I was a teenager I would go past some high-end stores (jewellers mostly but also "Consumers Distributing"!!!-remember that one?) and for some reason I could hear a high-pitched sound. I figured back then it was their alarm system or some device to get rid of teenagers. My mom didn't hear it. Now that I am much older, I don't hear anything like it anymore, but maybe it still exists in some stores and it interferes with the AP.
