as the article states, to 0x0070. This could mean 9 features were added/changed/eliminated/updated?? There should be an AppleTV+ quiz show each time they release an anonymous update. Participants guess at the details. The winner is awarded a $100 AppleStore gift card. Undisclosed updates, arrogant.I’ve got version 0x0061 so what version number should this new update be?
Anyone else have the issue where Siri won’t listen when activated the first time? I have to repeat commands a second time and then it listens. Hope this fixes that.
Yeah, we watch many hours of tv every day, all of it through the ATV, and we only need to charge it every 2-3 months...if that? Something definitely must be wrong there. Maybe your dog sits on it all night or something. If yours die every other day, there's something wrong with it. I'm amazed with how seldom I need to charge it, and I use it daily.
I absolutely hate the sharp edges of the new remote. Hope that's fixed in this firmware update.
I like the remote. I just wish it had a built in AirTag.

My thoughts exactly...Maybe it’ll enable the gyroscope so it’ll work like the previous model for gaming.![]()
I saw it 0x0061, did a beta update, put it to sleep afterwards, came back awhile later, turned it on, and checked it was updated to 0x0070Mine has not updated.
The original article did not state the firmware number.as the article states, to 0x0070. This could mean 9 features were added/changed/eliminated/updated??
mine has been plugged in for over an hour and nada!Mine updated to 0x0070 ~ 10 minutes after plugging the remote in to charge.

Plug it into a Mac or an iPad and it’ll update immediately. So how do you update it? I've had it since launch and never updated it before. Also how do you know what version you have?

I bought a case that includes an AirTag pocket—I have never lost the remote since.I like the remote. I just wish it had a built in AirTag.

Exactly this. The original clickwheel Apple TV remote worked with every app. It was especially great in Music (then, iTunes), because it let you effortlessly scroll through a very large music library. It would be great now in so many parts of the Apple TV, but the scrolling is both too difficult (having to pause and wait for the scroll wheel thingy is stupid) and doesn't work except where specifically programmed.I find the click wheel very annoying as in most apps you can’t spin it to advance or rewind videos. Apple should make it mandatory behaviour in all apps.
While there is no "official" way to update, I've found with the remote, as well as AirPods and the MagSafe "puck" chargers, the easiest and fastest way is to plug the device into my MacBook and wait a few minutes (specifically this works for the AirPods and MagSafe chargers). So how do you update it? I've had it since launch and never updated it before. Also how do you know what version you have?
