Amen...good grief, talk about a CF...and slow. MacOS X 10.1 fixed a lot of things and for me, Jaguar was good at the end with 10.2.6, Panther, better once 10.3.3 shipped, Tiger at 10.4.4, Leopard by 10.5.6, SL at 10.6.8, Lion was complete crap through every release, ML was fine by 10.8.5, Mavericks I never really even remember using that much, Yosemite took until 10.10.4, Sierra by 10.12.4, HS by 10.13.4 and for me Mojave 10.14.5 was more stable than 10.14.6. I hold out hope that Catalina will be better by 10.15.4, there is still a ways to go, unfortunately.

EDIT: Forgot El Crapitan, which was fine by 10.11.4. Pretty good, actually, by the time it hit 10.11.6.

i wish apple would go back to releasing macOS every 18-24 months instead of every year...

Snow Leopard for me was really good, I loved that OS a lot

I haven't kept up with all of the latest talk about Catalina, to be honest.... But my co-workers have been running it ever since the early betas and they insist the release is currently far too buggy for us to consider allowing the rest of our users to install it. (A group of 5 of us do I.T. for a company with around 100 employees, and roughly half of them are using Macs. I've been side tracked lately with some Windows issues so haven't played as much with Catalina.)

5 of you for 100 people  I look after 850 Mac's pretty much on my own. But your co-worker is right Catalina is not yet ready.

After installing I got this prompt, similar to iOS 13.2 Beta 2.

And the Siri preference pane changed, adding an option to delete your Siri history. The new emojis were also added to keep up with iOS.

Hopefully they fix syncing via wired connection for photo albums that are located inside folders in Photos. Those don't sync right now. They had this bug several years ago too.

Also, if a sync hangs, previously you could quit or force quit iTunes. Now you are stuck having to log out.

Is the sounds/ringtone tab back when syncing iPhone in Finder ?

I don't see it.

Why isn’t they’re ever anything new in post-release macOS betas? Not even little design tweaks, like iOS. Or is it that there isn’t a big community who hunts for them?

They is still that annoying issue with Finder, when ever I need to have a file to open with a certain app not the default for that type and always open with that app, when ever save any changes to that file it open with app defaults back to the default one, so next time I double click it opens with the default app not the one I specified to always open with.

The Siri preference pane is ambiguous. At first I read Delete (Siri) and (Dictation History) instead of Delete (Siri and Dictation) History, which is presumably what's intended.

Major OS releases contain the new features. The point releases intra-year are for bug fixing and stabilization of the OS. If you suddenly add new features to a point release then you now have no basis of knowing when the OS is stable. New features = new bugs.

It pains me to see Apple so strongly doing everything to keep nvidia out of the Mac environment all together. Support for AMD and eGPU explicitly not accepting that for Nvidias cards.. it’s just dirty and bad for everyone.

I installed 10.15.0 on my MacBook 12" (early 2015) and it went in like a dream. Use Xcode for iOS dev. This seems to work too, although I can't upgrade from 11.0 to 11.1. The AppStore just doesn't seem to notice the upgrade, but my iMac (still on 10.14.6) sees the 11.1 upgrade no problem

False alarm, despide the changelog entry, there seems to be no Radeon 5700/5700XT support in this release.

I haven't experienced any major problems with Catalina - so far. Though going forward I wish Apple would distribute major new features to macOS & iOS throughout the year, rather than promising a bunch of new things in one big release in the fall. Their strategy needs to change.

That's honestly a good idea
