Honestly, I think I'd prefer that Apple and others stop with the GIANT FLAGSHIP SOFTWARE RELEASES ONCE A YEAR NO MATTER WHAT and instead just iteratively roll things out in 0.X updates throughout the year.

My wife HATES the September iOS update because she feels like she has to learn everything all over again. "Why can't they just leave it alone instead of changing how I need to do things?"

I get what you mean, but it has a very simple solution, turn-off automatic updates, then you can do it when going on a holiday every 18-24 months or so, instead of every 12 months, so first you don't do it as often and second you have time to adjust when taking time off. Also, .0 & .1 are usually the worst.

14.6 showing for me. With “also available” 14.7 below it.

Thanks for writing 1 article about the beta drops today instead of 4-5 separate articles for each platform.

I appreciate the feedback on the beta posts. This combined format works for early betas when we're unaware of feature sets, but it's harder to maintain when there are separate features for each beta that people want to discuss.

Another issue is that beta posts are prepared ahead of time so we can let MR readers know right away when a beta comes out without delaying, and betas don't always come out all together.

I'll combo when I can, but for the most part beta articles will continue to be separate. When there are no new features in a beta as is often the case with tvOS, we do have a feature for making sure it doesn't take up much space on the front page, which we always use. I've also been comboing tvOS and iOS when possible.

The Software Update section “ALSO AVAILABLE” kicking in nicely.

here’s to it being less of a mess than last year.

12 and 13 seem to have had less time in beta for each dot release - maybe it means they can roll features quicker in smaller updates Rather than all in one go buggy over the whole thing.

If there is only one posting, how will all these people let you know they are “downloading now” ?
Aside from delays to MacOS beta on occasion, most of the time they all drop about the same time online to devs, even the public betas releases are dropping the same time when they are released separately. So it can save time just to announce it in one thread IMHO.

So 14.7 is in beta but no release of 14.6 yet...
Don't know how many times y'all are going to say that. But it's always been like that that the next beta is going to come out when the last one finishes up and is awaiting public release. iOS 15 will have many betas while 14.x is still out and having it's own betas.

Yeah, it makes me want to keep the beta profile on my iPhone and just get the RC betas, so that I can get it a few days ahead of the general release without a huge risk of borking my phone with early betas.
